We start traveling again these days with health protocol and new normal norms.
I had a working visit to Bandung, the capital city of West Java, for 3 days. Together with my hubby, we drove from Jakarta and it took us around 3 hours to arrive at Hilton Bandung, where we stayed. Well, this is the second time we stayed here as we really enjoyed this global-chained hotel. Too bad this time my kids didn't come along as we didn't really stay that long either.
Welcome to Hilton Bandung
Since I had meetings here, I didn’t really go out much but we did enjoy some culinary visit to some famous spots. Some of them are like our favorite places, so my hubby and I walked down the memory lane during our stay. We went to Batagor Kingsley, Se'i Sapi Lamalera, Iga Bakar si Jangkung and Kartika Sari Dago. Well I have to admit those are legendary places which have been famous for a long time.
Here are some of the photos I took while visiting them. Can you guess which one is which :)?
Se'i Sapi Lamalera
Se'i sapi is the traditional smoked beef plates from East Nusa Tenggara. You usually eat it with steam cassava leaves and hot chilli or sambal. Here in Bandung, they have a wide variety of sambal to eat together with the beef.
Se'i sapi for you..

my fave.. with sambal Kecombrang
Batagor Kingsley
This bakso tahu goreng or fried tofu and fish cake is my fave. Whenever I go to Bandung I always ttry to eat here. We even have them take away to Jakarta as well.
Batagor Kingsley Bandung with the soup... super yuuum

I can't get enough!
Iga Bakar si Jangkung
These grilled ribs, marinated in Indonesian herbs and sauces, are the best!
I tried the soup as well..

Hilton Bandung
One of my favorite hotels in the city, not far from the train station and so many interesting spots in the area. I really enjoyed our spacious room and lovely view of the city from my room.
our comfy room at Hilton Bandung
breakfast at the hotel
the amenities are Verbena & Lavender series from Crabtree & Evelyn
Can’t wait to go back to Bandung again soon and explore more. I sincerely hope next time coming here I will be able to meet my dearest blogger friends from Bandung as well. Meanwhile, stay safe, happy and healthy yaaa
Wednesday is here again and how are you, dear friends?
Our days amidst the pandemic continue and I have to say, although I don't like it a bit of it but we have adjusted ourselves to it. My kids have, too. Especially since they have to endure online classes for 5 days a week with some extra home works as well.
Work wise, I have been working with my team to prepare for the UN Human Rights Council and UN General Assembly. The new session has started for HRC and soon, the 75th session of the UNGA is opened. It's a crazy combo, I know, but we have done this for quite some times now. The agenda is certainly packed as always and being an active member of the UN, including the UN Human Rights Council and the Non Permanent member of the UN Security Council, we have a lot to contribute. A lot of documents and statements are coming and I have been drafting since I don't know when hehehe.
Great thing is I have a strong team and we all now know what to expect. Although many sensitive issues will be brought up this session, I sincerely hope we are ready. Too bad I won't be traveling to Geneva or New York this time due to the pandemic.
Btw, I have been documenting our cats in photos and videos and manage to have that ready for Youtube. Come check it out HERE and you also see them here in this post. Kiki, Plum and Cemong are indeed our dearest furry friends. Since we spend so much time at home, we spend more time with them as well and they can be very entertaining indeed.
Hope you have a wonderful week ahead and we will party again next week. And now,

The Amazing Gigi Hiu, Kelumbayan, Lampung, Indonesia
We had the opportunity to go to one of the exotic beaches in Lampung, Gigi Hiu.
It was an amazing, extreme experience as the road heading to this place was not that easy at all. As my hubby said it felt like an off road trip, but we were only driving our SUV car.
But the view there is awesome!
Some of the footage we have here were taken by DJI Phantom 4 Professional Drone.
I really like the aerial photos and these are some of the results, without undergoing any edit.
will share more about the trip at later stage.

I know many of us are now in confinement, either practising social and physical distance or even lock down policy. Corona virus is still rampantly out there and the best way of keeping ourselves and others safe are by staying healthy and try not to get infected. I know it's so easy to say that but we can definitely try our best to do it! Meanwhile, I have decided to celebrate spring, which is blooming beautifully out there. Again I have some photos taken years ago and I just love to put it here in my blog so that we can keep our hopes up. Seeing the colorful world is indeed my mood booster.
Jakarta has been very humid lately. Sometimes it''s raining cats and dog although it's only fo a while. Thunders are joining few times although it's not that terrifying. Except for my cats :), which seems to be longing the world outside as well.
But I love the rain. It keeps the earth cool and hydrated, the flowers are blooming as well. I love the smell of the earth during and after the rain. So fresh. And I can enjoy this wonderful, simple thing as I have some times to pause for a while and observe the nature.
Sometimes, I think what we have now is just a little break everyone , and probably everything, is needed. The earth desperately needs a break from that shattering, non-stop abuses we do in the name of modernity and industries. We need a break from the living -in-a-fast-lane mode that we are frustratingly doing on daily basis. Even the sky can use this little break, too. Bringing back its clear, blue canvas, along with the fresh air we crave. And life continues in a a different direction. At least for now.
cheers from my mini front yard :)
So I won't be complaining for now. I will just cherish the moment that we all are rarely given to further contemplate of what the world is trying to tell us through this pandemic. And we will stay strong and healthy until the end of this trying time. Here's for more springs ahead!
Stay healthy and safe, everyone
What have you been doing lately? Do you keep your productivity on top gear while staying mostly at home? Stay safe and healthy wherever you are!
Let's continue our journey to St. George's, Grenada, shall we?
Overlooking the amazing view of St. George's
I'm in love with this country as it has so much in common with my beloved Indonesia. One thing for sure, we both are the world's largest producers of nutmeg. This golden spice really spurs up the economy and give this lovely country its fame. And probably, on a bleaker side, also bring colonialism. So, on the following day after my endless meetings in this island of spice, we decided to browse around the city. We rent the local taxi from the hotel and I traveled around with my dearest friend, Rie Kadota. We had 2 forts with amazing view from the top, local market and museums. St. George's itself has 4 forts on every corner of the city. Here are some photos I took from Fort Frederick with its amazing vista and the surroundings. Hope you love it as much as I do!
Welcome to Fort Frederick
It took us about 40 minutes to drive up here. Not because it's far but because of the traffic along those narrow yet cute alleys and road in the city. As we had stopped at the local market before heading here, we managed to eat fresh mangoes along the way. Super yuuum!
clear blue sky!
Fort Frederick is such a lovely place. You can read a glimpse of its interesting history on the photo below.
Here are more photos from the surroundings of the fort. I love the fresh yellow frangipani (that's the name of this type of flower, right?), the clear blue sky, fresh breeze, and relatively well-maintained architectures.
Don't
Perfect spot for a photo shoot :)
the vast ocean in front of you..
Uniquely, this fort is not facing the sea but rather backwards. The fort is facing the city, as the British had traumatic experience of being attacked by the French from inland, instead of the ocean. That's the reason why the canons are also facing the city.
And here's happy me posing on Fort Frederick, wearing my favorite t-shirt saying: I swear I'm a blogger :)
Meanwhile, have you managed to check out my video o YouTube about my trip to Grenada? Here's a little sneak peak of what you can do in St. George's in a day.
Feel free to see the previous video on Grenada as well, particularly about the lovely Grand Anse Beach and the famous Catamaran sail we can also do in St. George's, Grenada.
