Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Happy Kartini Day to all Indonesian ladies wherever you are!

To those who are not familiar with Kartini, one of Indonesian's heroines, you can check out my post here: WW: Selamat Hari Kartini, Perempuan Indonesia.

Even in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic, we can still celebrate her undying spirit for gender equality and women's rights. Staying at home and be productive, taking care of our kids, continuing our self- actualization and self-development programmes, doing things we love are only a few examples of this spirit. So, perempuan Indonesia, let's show to the world what we can contribute to the betterment of all!

Proudly representing Indonesia

Meanwhile, my senior diplomatic training is reaching an end. I am still in the middle of the final project and hopefully everything will be wrapped up this Friday.

We will welcome the holy month of Ramadhan and I am very blessed to be able to meet Ramadhan. I sincerely hope I can focus on making myself a better person. So is my family. This will be a great chance to repent and focus on our good deeds.

WW: Selamat Hari Kartini, Perempuan Indonesia

Selamat Hari Kartini, Perempuan Indonesia!

Mari memaknai semangat Ibu #kartini untuk terus berjuang melawan keterkungkungan dan ketidaksetaraan. Semangat yang sama untuk terus membangun kemampuan diri dan mencoba memberikan yang terbaik untuk negeri.

Raden Adjeng Kartini, or famously knows as Kartini, is one of Indonesia's heroines. She dedicated her life to bring better life to Indonesian girls and women during the colonial time, when girls and women could not go to school and didn't have a say on important things related to her life, including deciding her spouse. She is truly the pioneer for education fro girls and women as well as women's right in Indonesia. She opened a free school for Indonesian girls and women, which was considered taboo at that time. Although she passed a way at a relatively you age, after giving birth to her first child, her undying spirit continues to serve as a beacon for Indonesian women afterwards.

representing Indonesia for the Third Committee of UN General Assembly

Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang, or in Dutch, Door Duisternir tot Licht, literally translated as Out of Dark Comes Light, is the book which collects Kartini's letters written in Dutch (rare privilege to Indonesian women at that time, especailly if you were not part of the royals)  to many officials and influential people, including  J.H. Abendanon who was one of the prominent figures in the Netherlands. She wrote many of her ideas and perspectives of the social life and condition in Indonesia during that time, particularly on women's life and rights. Freedom was an absolute luxury for Indonesian women at that time. Therefore, we owe a lot to Kartini and other Indonesian heroines who had sacrificed their lives for the betterment of us.

Proudly be a modern Kartini!

Kita kerap terjebak pada stigma bahwa perempuan hanya bisa melakukan A dan B, tapi tidak X, Y, Z. Padahal, once we have set our heart and our mind on it, kita pasti BISA!

Dengan cara kita masing - masing, mari kita teladani semangat Ibu R.A. Kartini ♥️♥️♥️. Aku pun terus mencoba mengaktualisasikan diri dengan mencoba melakukan berbagai hal yang bisa dan menyenangkan untuk dilakukan, dengan tetap menjaga kodrat sebagai perempuan.

Try different aspect of life!

Tebar kebaikan, semangat untuk terus maju, tak letih belajar, dan kuatkan tekad bahwa kita BISA!

And keep fighting!
