Throwback Tuesday: A Day in Milano

Time for another Throwback Tuesday!
This time my snaps from my second visit to Italy and first time visit to Milano.

And Bo was still a cute toddler.
This is the city where Bo first learned to run, chasing the doves :).

It was back in 2008, when I was posted in Geneva, Switzerland, for my first assignment.
My mom stayed with us for 6 months and we managed to travel around whenever we had time.
I remember  vividly that it was our first Easter Break trip in Europe.
Good thing about Easter Break in Europe is that it lasts for 4 days.
Yuup..Friday to Monday it is.
And we practically stayed in the central of the continent, where traveling around Western European countries are super easy.
We took the liberty to visit Lugano and Mendrisio in Switzerland, before heading to Milan and stayed day for a day.

First destination:  the Duomo.
The one in Milano is the third largest Gothic cathedral in the world and many have been captivated by its intricate details.
When we went there, the Cathedral was undergoing quite a major renovation.

The next stop was Galleria Vittorio Emmanuelle II.
Window shopping only  it was, as we had just had a crazy shopping session at Mendrisio Factory Outlet :).

We went to Castello Sforzesco, an imposing architecture full of history as well.

And as I said, this is the place where Bo started running around chasing the birds.
The flocking birds around those magnificent buildings!

That's my #throwbacktuesday.
What's your wonderful memories today?

p.s : I will keep my Throwback Tuesday features but will post it every Wednesday or Thursday :).

John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Key Largo, Florida

It was a fine afternoon after our snorkeling session at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park at Key Largo, Florida.

Missing home and its beautiful underwater scene terribly, we decided to drive down to Florida Keys from Miami (and of course from NYC ;)) just to have a nice snorkeling session here.

And we made it :)..

heading back..
We took the snorkeling tour at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Garden.

It was only me and Bo, as Udi was so tired and decided to stay at our hotel in Holiday Inn Key Largo with Obi.

cheers from me et Bo :)

The session took about 2.5 hours and we paid USD 29.95 for adults and USD 24.95 for under 18.

We brought our own equipment so we didn't have to rent anything. But those who don't have them can definitely rent the equipments such as mask, fins, snorkel, and suit.

siap nyemplung :)

It took around 30 minutes to reach the snorkeling spot and we took the speed boat with other group as well.
And the view on the way there was beautiful :)

On our way to the snorkeling spot

Our group..

Clear turquoise water welcomed us as we got to the spot.
I was feeling so excited to be on the sea again, although this one is surely different from home ;).

ready to plunge ourselves :)

It was beautiful indeed..
And there are so many purple corals ;)
My fave..
And Bo enjoyed it very much as well.
We talked a lot about Lampung and how we missed our hometown.

What have you seen today? almost everything here...

Underwater photos are coming..
For sure, it was a lovely day at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park ;)

Bo @ Charleston...

Bo @Charleston ...

My baby is a big boy now...

Bo was wearing Gap t-shirt, Oakley pants, Rayban glasses and fedora hat from street fair at Grand Central NYC :).

I have tons of photos and stories to share from our #RoadTripUSA #summer #2015

Bear with me and I'll post more :)

Charleston, South Carolina #1 (photo gallery)

Oh, Charleston...

Truly a southern charm..

So we managed to visit this beautiful city. Rich in cultures and history, our visit in this city is really rewarding.

After a half day at Myrtle Beach, we went straight to the hotel in Charleston. Both cities are in South Carolina, but it took around 2 hours drive from Myrtle Beach to Charleston.

We booked our stay in La Quinta Inn and Suites Riverview by the Ashley river. We had to wait quite some time before the room was ready but other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

We even get the complimentary shuttle to  the historical part of the city at the night we arrived and Bo, Obi and I explored the French Quarter in Charleston.

The next day, we continued our historical walk tour, visited the Boone Hall Plantation, and the Angel Oak Tree.

We had sooo much fun and learned a lot from every single visit we made.

I will get back with more stories and details. Meanwhile, here are some of the photos we had from this beautiful city, Charleston.

Well... Just some of them first ;).

All photos are taken with iPhone 6 plus and as I post most of my blogposts from my phone, it really helps a lot to have all those photo albums at the same device.

I haven't got a chance to transfer the photos from my DSLR, but I will definitely do that after our roadtrip ;). Oh, yes I will :).

So, what do you think of Charleston?
Isn't it gorgeous?
