New Caledonia in Blue

As I continue traveling to the Pacific, arriving at New Caledonia and staying there for 6 days, I truly enjoy the serenity of this territory.

Noumea from above

The clear blue sky provides solitude for me.
Especially amidst this crazy week where meetings seem to be endless and discussion can be tense.

Just looking up, or looking down, those clear blue skies are there to admire.

From a simple morning jog, to an early morning flight, quick shopping at the local market and lunch break, I was blessed to witness this territory at its best.

Sunset at St. Vincent and the Grenadines

The trip was made in May 2017 but I still remember vividly how beautiful the sunset at St. Vincent and the Grenadines!

The golden sky is such a a pretty sight!
I literally held my breath, unconsciously, while taking this photo :).
This one is taken from my hotel, Mariners, Arnos Vale, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Coming out to the French Verandah, this is what's welcoming us.

Strawberry Field and More Winter Sky from Central Park

Winter loves NYC this time.
Its freezing weather is lingering and white frost are popping up here and there.
And somehow, it doesn't dampen our spirit to stroll around the Central Park, the west side this time, and enjoy the famous Strawberry Field with the one and only Imagine, John Lennon's legendary song, mosaic tiles covered in snow.

Yoko Ono will narrate the story.

Strawberry Fields forever.

And here are more winter sky,- or rather winter scenes, from Central Park, snapped with my phone :).
It was cloudy and cold, yet we enjoyed our brisk walk.

oh yes, it's cold down here :)

Winter Blue Sky

“The world is big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark.”

                                                            John Muir

Winter blue sky is breathtaking.
And we were lucky that New York City got slightly warmer so we could enjoy the winter outside.
Off we went to Central Park West and here's what we enjoyed.
Hope you like it as much as we do!

Cloudy Wintery Day

After series of double digit subzero days, finally NYC gets slightly warmer days.
Well, we call 32 - 40 degree Fahrenheit, or 0 to 4 degree Celsius warm now after being hit by minus 20 C and colder.
It's obviously a new standard for us, Indonesians, who are so accustomed to tropical weather!

Anyway, as the temperature gets warmer, we have cloudy days.
And this Friday, I just went out to the UN Rose Garden before having an early meeting.

The rose garden was obviously missing all those colorful roses already as winter is coming
But the whole UN 'backyard' remains my favorite place.
The sky sure was cloudy but I loved the breeze.
This is something I can enjoy.

Saint Lucia from Above

Okay, you caught me red handed.
I just can't move on from my last trip to Caribbean (while enjoying the snow and freezing wind here in NYC)  and I have only shared some memories from St. Lucia here!
Hanging there and bear with me as I still have stories and tons of photos
from Antigua and Barbuda.
But this time, for Skywatch Friday, let me show you how beautiful St. Lucia is,
even from above.
Enjoy!

Breathtaking View at the Governor General's Resident in St. Lucia

I was super lucky indeed!
During my last visit to St. Lucia, we were honored to have the opportunity to meet the Governor General of St. Lucia, the Honorable Dame Pearly Louisy.
She is such a lovely, gracious lady.
And after the meeting, we managed to take a little tour to enjoy the breathtaking view at the Governor General's Resident in St. Lucia, although it was cloudy and rainy at that day.

St. Lucia

Here'e a little peek, before I came back with more stories from the Helen of the West Indies.
I took them all with y iPhone 7 Plus.

St. Lucia
I love this porch!
And hopefully a little selfie won't hurt :)

It is a lovely residence indeed!

And I was honored to have a little picture with the Honorable Governor General herself.

Fall Foliage at Central Park

Fall is almost finished.
But its beauty lingers.

Every October and November, I always have great chances to enjoy the beauty  of Fall in a healthy way.
In October, I joined Making Strides against Breast Cancer.
We walked 5 miles in Central Park to join the survivors and the big families of supporters for this charity event,
On the second week of November, a day before NYC marathon, I was joining the UN Run or Abbott Dash to Finish Line 5K again this year.
Two beautiful events here in  NYC that I don't want to miss.

And as the finish line was in Central Park, I get a chance to enjoy the eternal beauty of this wonderful park during my favorite season, Fall.

My favorite spot..Bethesda Fountain..
One of my favorite spots of all time in Central Park is Bethesda Fountain and Terrace.
I can never get bored of taking some times strolling around this popular spot.
This majestic fountain is famous not only for all its angel of waters and some cute little angels on the lower part of the statue.
If you notice further, the angel holds  lily flowers, which represent the water's purity.
As I read further on Central Park website, the statue was beautifully made by Emma Stebbins, under the commission of New York City. She happens to be the first female sculptor being commissioned by the City.

While resting for  while after the 5K that day, we stopped at Bethesda Fountain to enjoy the incredibly blue sky and the fall foliage near the lake.
We also stopped at the same spot during Making Strides against Breast Cancer.
As you see, we have the lake near the fountain.
The trees around the lake have yellow leaves already and look beautiful.

When we walked along the Mall, it was even lovelier to see those yellowing trees.
Lines of  American Elms are magnificently framing the Literary walk, where we have statues of great poets and authors, plus Christopher Columbus as an exception.
Such a wonderful walk in the middle of the lungs of New York City.

Ah..the beauty of Fall.
I just can't help but capturing all this wonderful creations of the Almighty with my phone.

So, Fall is indeed my favorite season :).
And I am forever grateful for those magnificent trees and the wonderful sky above our head.
Do you manage to see the fall foliage this season?

Manhattan Stroll

I always enjoy strolling around Manhattan.
Sometimes, I got a bonus of having my hubby my kids coming with me.
And this concrete jungle never fails to amaze me.

One fine Sunday, we were strolling around Midtown Manhattan.
With Bo et Udi, my hubby, we were enjoying the sun walking around 42nd street and 3rd Avenue, heading to Grand Central and the surroundings.
Watching people on the street gives a certain amount of pleasure.
New York City is truly a melting pot.

We took the subway to go to SoHo, stopping here and there buy some stuff.

I took the liberty to take my Outfit of the Day photo as well, abusing my phone as always.
And for the outfit, I was happily wearing purple cat dress from Yogiswari Prajanti from Java Batik, one of my favorite Indonesia designers, with Ballerina flatters from Tory Burch and unique tassel earrings from dearest childhood friend, Deniheru UniqlyKamea
