Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

President Joko Widodo delivered his speech in the High Level Week of UNGA 76th Session

Here comes another week in September.

September has always been one of the busiest months in our year. Work wise, it is the peak season of United Nations General Assembly. Series of high - level meetings have been scheduled, packed with the delivery of the main statement by our president, sidelined by various high-level summit, commemoration, meetings and more.

Our delegation to New York is headed by Her Excellency Minister Retno Marsudi. We have rather small entourage considering the pandemic here, but the works are still abundant as the meetings attended by her are a lot as well. Again good thing we have the great team and together we prepare those meetings one by one. Issues ranging from the pandemic, vaccines, climate change, global conflicts, and more are on the agenda, causing a bit of a tsunami in terms of work load. But then again, it is always interesting to hear updates and more deliberation on the issues at hands.  Again, wish us luck.

More over, we are working steadily in the packing department. It's a back-and-bone-breaking work but we are making progress indeed. Super happy yet super tired at the same time. But I guess everything is as expected and hopefully we are ready to depart to Wellington, New Zealand at the scheduled time.

welcome to  Taman Laut Okulele, Gorontalo, Indonesia

Hi everyone.

More photos and stories from my recent trip to Gorontalo, northern part of Sulawesi island, Indonesia.

On my second day of diving trip here, we were visiting Olele at Bonebolanga area. This place is famous for its underwater garden, Olele. One of the unique underwater plants we can find here is the typical, one-of-a-kind soft coral sponge famously called Salvador Dali because it looks like Dali's famous painting. Besides, its pristine walls and soft corals are intact, providing comfy homes for various school of fish and underwater creatures. 

We drove from Amaris Hotel Gorontalo, our hotel, to Olele, for around 1 hour. The road was curvy yet beautiful as you can see the Bone river and the gulf of Tomini.

Meet the Whale sharks at Gorontalo, Indonesia

I have just had an awesome adventure. 

Meet the Whale sharks at Gorontalo, Indonesia!

I was very lucky I got a chance to visit Gorontalo province, in the northern part of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It took 3.5 hours flight directly from Jakarta or around 4-5 hours with transit. Together with my diving club, around 12 of us, we went to Gorontalo and had 8 dive trips arranged by local dive operator. Well, my friends even have more, since they stayed 2 days longer than me. I went back earlier as I have some meetings in the office.

So, long story short, we started our diving journey to Botubarani Village, Gorontalo, where whale sharks have been spotted in group. When we arrived, there were 2 whale sharks already waiting! Lucky us indeed! The third one joined us in the middle of the dive. Well, I will spell more stories in the next post and meanwhile, enjoy some of the underwater photos I took here during my diving.

Hi, everyone.

Hope you all safe and sound, wherever you are. 

I have been enjoying my days at home as much as I could. Mostly doing some packing, I focus on fulfilling all the requirements needed for my next assignment while at the same time overseeing some works at the office.

The 76th session of the UNGA will be starting soon, while the 48th session of UN Human Rights is ongoing. With two heavy - loaded meetings happening at the same time, you can imagine how crazy the workloads are. We have been working extra hard with the team and fingers crossed, hope things will work well as scheduled. As always, UNGA session always has many surprises. This year, similar to last year, the discussion will be focused on our fight against COVID - 19. How we can recover together and stronger from all these rampant damages caused by the pandemic. 

My Minister, as well as some small team, has dispatched to New York City. We didn't send big group although my President will be joining the session through pre-recorded messages. Well, this time of the year, I usually go to NYC for all these meetings. This year will definitely be different as we have to avoid unnecessary traveling and only for the most important one. Well, I have to admit I really miss NYC. Its vibrant vibe and even never ending noise of the sirens proves to be something I crave LOL. Well, hopefully I can go back here one day and reunite with the Big Apple.
