WW: Monkey Forest, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

The Monkey Forest, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

One of the must-see attractions in Ubud is the Monkey Forest, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.

This sacred place offers not only the quirky up-close-and-personal encounter with the smart monkeys in their loving home, but also plush tropical jungle and ceremonious temples.

My family and I arrived here before lunch and we spent around 1.5 hours trekking the wooden path and meeting those cute monkeys. We bought the ticket at the entrance gate which costs us 60K Rupiah per adult and 30K Rupiah for kids under 12.

my daughter Obi was so curious about these monkeys

Well, at first we thought it might be a bit scary to be that close with the monkeys. And we are not talking about 1,2, or 3 monkeys, but lots of lots of them although you don't always see them. Nevertheless, if we follow all the rules and regulations, we can definitely enjoy this sacred ground. For sure, you should not feed the monkey and don't look them in the eyes as that is the sign of aggression.

Here are a few photos we took on the visit.

Every monkey seems busy with their own business :)

I was fascinated to see the monkeys against the backdrop of beautiful forest. Yet we were heading back to Jakarta that day and we needed to catch the flight. I really recommend this place and hope you will get a chance to visit it.

Birthday Galore at the Frakarsas Family

Birthday galore at the Frakarsas

Happy happy birthday!

December is a triple special for me and my family. It’s all about birthdays, birthdays, and birthdays! Plus vacation LOL.

I believe I have been telling my dearest blog readers that I am surrounded by 3 Sagitarians. My hubby, my son and my daughter. Good thing I am a Leo ♌️ so I can handle them (if you know what I mean  ๐Ÿ˜‰).

So this time, in this super special 2020 thanks to the pandemic, we actually managed to do things differently. We celebrated 2 birthdays in Bali (yaaaaay) and 1 in Jakarta with the my big families.

We started the birthday galore with Obi, my daughter. Although I was in the middle of preparation for meetings, we still get a chance to celebrate it in our hotel bedroom in Nusa Dua, Bali. We even had the mini birthday cake with cherries and chocolate on top ๐Ÿ’.

So Happiest birthday to my baby bunny, ma mija, the brightest girl in the house (after mama hahahahaha) ๐Ÿฅฐ♥️๐Ÿฅฐ. No .. I was kidding. I bet you will be even brighter, smarter, more fun and more soleha ya love. I can’t tell you enough how proud I am to see you grow this gracefully all these years. Have blessed days head, gorgeous! May Allah SWT bless us all. Always!

Then the second birthday is super duper special as we celebrate my hubby’s born day and our anniversary as well. 16 years and still so much in love, complete with everything in between! We were in Ubud, staying in one of our favorite private villas there, and had a blast!

When people ask me how I - or perhaps ‘we’ can survive our relationship this long (9 years dating & 16 years of marriage and counting ๐Ÿฅฐ.), I might say I don’t now. I just enjoy the journey, - no matter how absurd and horrible it may be ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคญ , complete with its ups and downs;  be true to myself and try to ensure respect is on our day-to-day menu. Obviously, it’s not always a rose-colored glasses world we have, but it sure is colorful enough to make you realize how blessed and lucky you are to have each other. You don’t always have the privilege to spend your life with someone that makes you feel super comfortable being yourself. With Udi, I have been through hell and heaven and he still stands by me until this very moment. I sincerely hope I can do the same! Here’s to 16 (or 25 from the scratch ๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿฅฐ) years and counting ya love ๐ŸŒบ♥️.

Finally, the finale for this year’s birthday galore in the Frakarsas family is abang Bo’s. My first born son.

I still remember vividly when I came to Monash medical Center in Melbourne twice before I delivered my first born. It was quite an experience and an adventure for me and my hubby @frakarsa because it was only the two of us at the time and we were far away from home. Alhamdulillaaaah all was well and we celebrated the joy of being new parents merrily. But Bo has been a lovely and understanding kid since the very beginning as I have no trouble at all in raising him until now when puberty hits LOL. And he’s been traveling around since a tender age of 7 days, accompanying me to the boxing day sale then flew back home to Jakarta when he was only 39 days old!

Now, he is still a soft-hearted and loving boy who is not afraid to show his love to mama, yours truly, Bapak et Obi. He hugs me before going to bed and says I love you to us. He helps with household chores and cooks well! And he’s our cats’ favorite!

Thanks for being a unique and helpful you, Bang.. here’s to being 14 and more brilliant years to come ๐ŸŽ‰♥️! Bismillahirrahmanirrahiiim ♥️♥️♥️

Before his birthday, we had photo session taken during our last visit to Bali and during our stay in Conrad Hotel, Bali. I love all the result and really thank Conrad for these wonderful shots and beautiful memories we share in there ♥️๐Ÿ’œ♥️.

So that’s our birthday galore this year. We are so grateful for all the beautiful things Allah SWT has bestowed us. May we all be blessed. Always.

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Happy December to you all and I can tell the holiday vibe is here!

My family and I have an early start in terms of holiday, as we had just concluded our 9-day trip in Bali, covering Nusa Penida, Nusa Dua and Ubud. I am super happy indeed! It's not everyday that we can gather and spend some quality time together. Even during the pandemic, which we might initially presume will be less hectic than usual, we tend to be busier doing everything from home. So when we had the chance, my hubby and I didn't take that long to decide that we would go to Bali together. My kids still had their final exam so we brought the books and their school uniforms to Bali LOL. It was a bit overwhelming but each and everyone of us were super excited as well!

My daughter Obi and I at Taman Ujung, Karangasem, Bali

We had this tradition of doing a big road trip at least once in a year in our family.
The kids are so used to it since they were you so they kinda asked about it since we haven't done that since coming back home to Indonesia back in 2018. Well, occasionally we traveled to Lampung and some cities in Java, but it was only over the weekend. So by the time they knew we would be on the road for around 9 days, they were thrilled. I will definitely share more details on our trip later on. Wait for it.

WW: Lempuyang Temple, Bali - the Gate of Heaven

Lempuyang Temple, Bali - the Gate of Heaven
Lempuyang Temple, Karangasem, Bali - the Gate of Heaven

Bali certainly has a lot to offer!

No matter how many times you have visited this wonderful place, there will always be something new, something magical that you can definitely find here.

During our recent holiday in Bali amidst the pandemic, we drove to Karang Asem Regency to see one of the ‘dreamiest spots’ viraling in social media. Lempuyang Temple.

Have you been to the Lempuyang Temple?

It took us around 2.5 hours drive from Nusa Dua and once we arrived, we parked and took the shuttle to the closest part of the temple. We paid 50K or USD 3.5 for the shuttle and the same amount for the entrance ticket, including the rent of kain or fabrics we need to wear in this holy praying area, the help of photographer at the gate, and donation.

Sitting in the hilly area overlooking Mount Agung, Lempuyang Luhur Pura or temple is part of the Sad Kahyangan Temple built in the 11 century AD. That is 9 centuries ago. The local guide we met on the spot even said that the temple was built around 2000 years ago! It has 7 temples up until the very top that lie in the middle of a pristine jungle, which can only be reached by approximately 4 - hours hike. And that’s the speed of the locals, not us.

excuse my never - ending photo session at Lempuyang Temple

Lempuyang Temple, strategically located in a plateau that has 1700 stairs, perfectly frames Mount Agung and soon becomes people’s favorite because of its breathtaking beauty. The unique architectures surrounding the temples, with the gate of heaven and the giant dragon statues, add to its magnificent features.

Ma Mija et me :)

When we entered the area, it was drizzling and soon as we took pictures at the gate, it started to rain. Nevertheless, it doesn’t dampen our spirit to enjoy this temple. Even the fog turns the place more magically beautiful.

Here are some more  photos we took during our visit.

Enjoy ♥️♥️♥️

FLOATING BREAKFAST AT THE ROYAL PITA MAHA RESORT, UBUD, BALI

floating breakfast at the Royal Pita Maha Resort

Hi everyone.. Hope all is well and you are always safe, happy and healthy, wherever you are.

The end of the year is so near and I am lucky to have the privilege to spend some days in the most beautiful place on earth. BALI.

Perhaps you have read previous posts on different parts of Bali where I traveled to Ubud, Kuta, and Nusa Dua since October 2020.  Now I would like to share more stories about my recent stay in Ubud, Bali, especially in the Royal Pita Maha Resort. I first came here in October for meeting, then I came back again in the beginning of December with my family. We celebrated our anniversary and my hubby's 45th birthday. and before, we celebrated my daughter's 10th birthday in Nusa Dua. Well, December is indeed special for the Frakarsas!

breakfast at the Royal Pita Maha Resort, Ubud, Bali

By the way, as I have shared in my post about Luxurious Stay at the Royal Pita Maha Resort, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, there are so many lovely things to do and many spots to explore here in this resort. You can see the details of the villa, especially one-bedroom villa with private pool, in my previous posts and my YouTube channel. Check out the video down here!

So, this time I will show you the floating breakfast!
Yup.. floating breakfast!

I have to admit I have been so envious looking at so many Instagram feed showing gorgeous photos of floating breakfast in many lovely hotels, villas or residence. So when I got a chance to experience it myself at the Royal Pita Maha, I didn't think twice LOL.

Actually the breakfast is similar to what you have in the restaurant. During our first stay in this place, we have choice for the breakfast. Not as many or fancy as the buffet breakfast before the pandemic but I love the choices of Indonesian breakfast and the American one.

So I enjoy nasi goreng complete with egg, fried chicken, crispy crackers, chili and pickles. Not to mention fresh fruit and fresh juice. Then 2 staff came to my room to help me setting up the floating breakfast by putting everything on the rattan tray. then voila.. put it on the pool and you have your floating breakfast. As easy as that!

Now, the challenge is hot to enjoy your breakfast in the pool. It's not that easy as it seems. In my case, I took some times to take photos and videos on the pool while enjoying my nasi goreng.  Ribet LOL! But all in all, I do appreciate the help if the staff in preparing the breakfast and the lovely ambience we have at the Royal Pita Maha Resort.

So, what do you think? Will you enjoy the floating breakfast as well?
