Waking up early in the morning to catch the sunrise and walk to Nusa Dharma Island, a near by island connected to Nusa Dua Beach, is quite an experience.
strolling the beach in the morning
I woke up early for subuh prayer and this time, I directly went to the beach, right behind the Sofitel Nusa Dua where we stayed, to see the lovely sunrise. It was a bit clousy yet we managed to enjoy the beauty of it. We also decided to continue strolling the beach to have a little jogging. At the end of Nusa Dua beach, you will find Nusa Dharma Island, a small and clean island with temple on it.
Welcome to Nusa Dharma Island
It was very peaceful in the morning as you listened to the sound of the chirping birds and the crashing waves. The sea surrounding the island is clean and inviting, although the waves were big.
do you see the birds on top of the trees?
The temple is quite big and looks peaceful as well. We can only see it from outside as the temple can only be entered by those who are going to pray. I am always fascinated by the temples being erected and tended here in Bali. So elaborated and artistic at the same time. There are a few statues as well with some offerings on the table, which makes Bali famous for being religiously unique and solemn.
I have made a video as well about my sunrise walk and morning beach stroll at Nusa Dua and Nusa Dharma Island in Bali. Feel free to watch it on my YouTube channel.
So what do you think about the Nusa Dua Beach and Nusa Dharma Island? Will you stroll around the area as well?
Lempuyang Temple, Karangasem, Bali - the Gate of Heaven
Bali certainly has a lot to offer!
No matter how many times you have visited this wonderful place, there will always be something new, something magical that you can definitely find here.
During our recent holiday in Bali amidst the pandemic, we drove to Karang Asem Regency to see one of the ‘dreamiest spots’ viraling in social media. Lempuyang Temple.
Have you been to the Lempuyang Temple?
It took us around 2.5 hours drive from Nusa Dua and once we arrived, we parked and took the shuttle to the closest part of the temple. We paid 50K or USD 3.5 for the shuttle and the same amount for the entrance ticket, including the rent of kain or fabrics we need to wear in this holy praying area, the help of photographer at the gate, and donation.
Sitting in the hilly area overlooking Mount Agung, Lempuyang Luhur Pura or temple is part of the Sad Kahyangan Temple built in the 11 century AD. That is 9 centuries ago. The local guide we met on the spot even said that the temple was built around 2000 years ago! It has 7 temples up until the very top that lie in the middle of a pristine jungle, which can only be reached by approximately 4 - hours hike. And that’s the speed of the locals, not us.
excuse my never - ending photo session at Lempuyang Temple
Lempuyang Temple, strategically located in a plateau that has 1700 stairs, perfectly frames Mount Agung and soon becomes people’s favorite because of its breathtaking beauty. The unique architectures surrounding the temples, with the gate of heaven and the giant dragon statues, add to its magnificent features.
Ma Mija et me :)
When we entered the area, it was drizzling and soon as we took pictures at the gate, it started to rain. Nevertheless, it doesn’t dampen our spirit to enjoy this temple. Even the fog turns the place more magically beautiful.
Here are some more photos we took during our visit.
Enjoy ♥️♥️♥️
Won’t you visit this lovely temple as well?
Join us on (almost) Wordless Wednesday and have fun with the linky party!
We start traveling again these days with health protocol and new normal norms.
I had a working visit to Bandung, the capital city of West Java, for 3 days. Together with my hubby, we drove from Jakarta and it took us around 3 hours to arrive at Hilton Bandung, where we stayed. Well, this is the second time we stayed here as we really enjoyed this global-chained hotel. Too bad this time my kids didn't come along as we didn't really stay that long either.
Welcome to Hilton Bandung
Since I had meetings here, I didn’t really go out much but we did enjoy some culinary visit to some famous spots. Some of them are like our favorite places, so my hubby and I walked down the memory lane during our stay. We went to Batagor Kingsley, Se'i Sapi Lamalera, Iga Bakar si Jangkung and Kartika Sari Dago. Well I have to admit those are legendary places which have been famous for a long time.
Here are some of the photos I took while visiting them. Can you guess which one is which :)?
Se'i Sapi Lamalera
Se'i sapi is the traditional smoked beef plates from East Nusa Tenggara. You usually eat it with steam cassava leaves and hot chilli or sambal. Here in Bandung, they have a wide variety of sambal to eat together with the beef.
Se'i sapi for you..

Batagor Kingsley
This bakso tahu goreng or fried tofu and fish cake is my fave. Whenever I go to Bandung I always ttry to eat here. We even have them take away to Jakarta as well.

Iga Bakar si Jangkung
These grilled ribs, marinated in Indonesian herbs and sauces, are the best!
I tried the soup as well..
A cup of hot tea after a plate of grilled ribs
Hilton Bandung
One of my favorite hotels in the city, not far from the train station and so many interesting spots in the area. I really enjoyed our spacious room and lovely view of the city from my room.
our comfy room at Hilton Bandung
breakfast at the hotel
the amenities are Verbena & Lavender series from Crabtree & Evelyn
Can’t wait to go back to Bandung again soon and explore more. I sincerely hope next time coming here I will be able to meet my dearest blogger friends from Bandung as well. Meanwhile, stay safe, happy and healthy yaaa
Wednesday is here again and how are you, dear friends?
Our days amidst the pandemic continue and I have to say, although I don't like it a bit of it but we have adjusted ourselves to it. My kids have, too. Especially since they have to endure online classes for 5 days a week with some extra home works as well.
Work wise, I have been working with my team to prepare for the UN Human Rights Council and UN General Assembly. The new session has started for HRC and soon, the 75th session of the UNGA is opened. It's a crazy combo, I know, but we have done this for quite some times now. The agenda is certainly packed as always and being an active member of the UN, including the UN Human Rights Council and the Non Permanent member of the UN Security Council, we have a lot to contribute. A lot of documents and statements are coming and I have been drafting since I don't know when hehehe.
Great thing is I have a strong team and we all now know what to expect. Although many sensitive issues will be brought up this session, I sincerely hope we are ready. Too bad I won't be traveling to Geneva or New York this time due to the pandemic.
Btw, I have been documenting our cats in photos and videos and manage to have that ready for Youtube. Come check it out HERE and you also see them here in this post. Kiki, Plum and Cemong are indeed our dearest furry friends. Since we spend so much time at home, we spend more time with them as well and they can be very entertaining indeed.
Hope you have a wonderful week ahead and we will party again next week. And now,
We would also appreciate letting us know in comments you are following us so we can follow you back! All posts are welcome,
