The counting down begins :).
How's your winter break, dear friends...
New York City is wet, cold and windy lately but that doesn't stop us from enjoying this break together with friends and family. Thank God all the meetings at the UN were wrapped up on the night of Dec. 23rd, so we have more time to relax and enjoy the festivities.

We have some friends coming from Ottawa et we have birthday party as well as house warming.

Happy happy birthdaaay Josie :)
But on the Christmas Day, we all went to Central Park and enjoyed the warm weather.

cloudy day but it's beautiful...

I was not surprised to see the park was packed by so many people indeed :).

Bethesda Fountain was so packed..
It was such a beautiful day..

Alice in Wonderland

"Who in the world am I? Aah... That's the great puzzle"..
White Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland...

We just spent our Friday afternoon at Central Park.
In the warmest day on December 25 over the last century... That's what they've been saying all over the news.

So as we have no white Christmas here in the Big Apple, but rather a warm day, we decided to pay a visit to this huge park in the middle of NYC. It was a bit drizzling by the way, but relatively warm.

drizzling..yet clear blue sky :)

Stretching over from the 59th Street to 110th Street, we certainly have a lot to explore here. But this time, we are coming back to meet Alice :).

Meet Alice...

Yuuup..
Alice in Wonderland.
Meet Alice, comfortably sitting on top of a giant mushroom amidst tall trees and blue sky above her.

Near the Conservatory Water at the eastern part of Central Park, stand the bronze sculpture of Alice and her famous friends from this impeccable story, Alice in Wonderland. Joining the big family of famous sculptures and statues in Central Park since 1959, Alice in Wonderland is a gift to all children in New York City thanks to the generosity of Mr. George Delacorte. We went there last year as well and had fun indeed.

back in 2014 :)

I guess many of you are familiar with Alice, right.
This adventurous girl is really having the time of her life experiencing the weirdest yet extraordinary adventures with Mr. White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Humpty Dumpty and Queen Heart in the Wonderland. And it all started down the rabbit hole :).

I myself have watched several versions of this timeless story brilliantly written by Lewis Carroll in the movies. Smithen by those wild imaginations, I also collect the book, including the sequel, Through the looking glass.  Perhaps that's why I always enjoy visiting its statues in Central Park. Including my kids...

look who's having fuuun :)

We have friends coming over from Ottawa and the kids are enjoying their winter break already. And surely running around freely, climbing rocks as well Alice and friends' statues suit them fine. Obi, my daughter, and Zayyan, Dinie's son,-our dearest friend from Ottawa, couldn't stop giggling looking at Mr. Rabbit's pocket watch and the wide grin of the Madhatter, while at the same time sliding down the magic mushroom just to climb it up again.

Aaah..what fun :)

Do you like Alice in Wonderland, too?
Who's your favorite character?

Enjoy the blue sky from different part of the world and join us on Skywatch Friday

Central Park in autumn

I have to admit that Central Park is one of my favorite spots here in the Big Apple.

Well... Who wouldn't love Central Park?

One sunny day...

Lines of green lush trees, climbing rocks for kids and adults to enjoy, squirrels running around carefreely and the charming landscapes are only a few perks you can enjoy in this New Yorkers' dearest spot. Not to mention several incredible museums you can visit and enjoy here, like American Museum of Natura History and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The park is very accessible, too. Public transport is available on the West or East side of the park. I usually take subway line B and C for the West side and line 4,5, and 6 for the East Side. We can have the connection from Grand Central or Times Square. Check mta.com for the complete subway map and timetable. With some short extra walks, you will easily arrive here.

And autumn just simply makes everything looks even more and more beautiful. As ever.

Last year, during this time, I was so occupied with my chemotherapy. Frequent trips to the clinic, drastic changes in my physical appearances, heavily reduced mobility and lingering discomforts accompanied me as Fall besotted NYC last year. How I missed going out and enjoying the nature's beauty but I have to concentrate on my treatment at that time.

But hey... Here I am now.
Feeling much, much better than before. Happily finishing my procedures and treatments while trying to go back to my normal life.

And wonderful Fall is coming to town again. Rendering its magical feeling as red and gold hues painted the leaves and trees.

How my heart sings.

So, this autumn, I simply don't wanna miss the vibe.
And Central Park is on top of the list.  For sure, it looks even more wonderful than ever. And blessfully, NYC is surprisingly warm.

We stroll around  Central Park West, near the jogging track surrounding the Reservoir and around the Gothic Bridge.  Here are some snaps I took with my iPhone in one lovely Saturday. Just before this beautiful fall slipping away.

You know how big Central Park is.
I have shared many parts of the Park here in this blog before, like the Mall and the pond as well as Bethesda Fountain.
We usually go the East side but this time we strolled around the West Part. And it is as beautiful as any part of the Park.

Feel blessed, always..

How I feel so blessed for all the great things my Rabb has bestowed upon me and my family. Alhamdulillah...

Obi et Bapak..

Spending some quality time with my loved ones is another blessing that I continue to be grateful for. It feels like a strong medicine for my heart and soul.

Daddy's girl...

For sure, autumn is a special time for me and my family.
I hope you all have a great time as well during this beautiful season.
