Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World and Friends

Welcome back and how's this week treating you?

November is coming to an end and soon we will be enjoying the last month of 2022. How time flies!
We are now enjoying the new hous and with 3 stories and 4 rooms, it is certainly spacious. It's even better than what I have in mind before. Alhamdulillah, we finally get the house that can accommodate our needs and for sure, healthier in terms of humidity and less cold. Hopefully we can live better live here.

On the other side, we have just concluded Lumino City - Wellington Lantern Festival 2022. Claimed to be the biggest lantern festival in the country, this event can finally be conducted after being postponed for about 2 years due to the pandemic. We opened the Indonesian stall and had some food and munchies as well as souvenirs being sold during the event. I also joined the performance of Angklung on the stage, where many performers from different countries joining the festival.

It was fun indeed, although Wellington was super wet due to the heavy rain on Friday. Good thing on Saturday the weather was better so we can get a comfy festival. We also have the giant Komodo, the native giant lizards from Indonesia, as our lantern and you can see how it looks on the photos here.

Welcome back and I hope all is well with you and your loved ones, wherever you are.

This week is another crazy week for me and my family as we moved to the new house! Yaaay, super excited indeed. From Karori, we moved to Khandallah area and the house is way more spacious than the previous one. It is 3-story house with 3 bedrooms and 1 study, garage for two cars, and balconies plus backyard for extra space. The most important this is that the house and the area has less humidity level compared to our house in Karori. Now, we need to get more furnitures to fill the house as I got many empty spaces. My hubby and I love hunting for vintage or rustic furnitures and let's see how things works. Wish us luck with this new home!

As from the office and my activities, we have been busy with several arts and cultural performances in Wellington. Nadine, my daughter, and I joined Mekar Bhuana Aotearoa Gamelan, the Balinese gamelan troupe here in Wellington. Vaughn or Bli Pon and mba Putu Evie are the founder as well as the teachers in this group.

After the whole course and extra rehearsals, we performed in front of the Mayor of Wellington. Tory Whanau, and Ambassador Fientje Suebu, as part of the sharing of cultures with Ngati Poneke Maori group. The performance was conducted in Pipitea Marae, so we were properly welcomed in Powhiri, or the welcoming rituals of the Maori. Nadine and I played kangsih and gumanak, like mini cymbals in this gamelan, and we learned playing gangsa jongkok as well.

I also danced and performed with the group, dancing Rejang Tinju Cak, composed by Putu Evie. I will share more details later for sure!

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World and Friends

Morena, friends. Hope all is well, wherever you are.

Spring is here but Wellington is somehow getting cooler and colder at night, so it is tricky for us to get ourselves ready for hot day then cold night. Just when we thought we can start swimming on the beach or having picnics in the park, the wind and the weather become less friendly again. Too bad indeed. Unfortunately, more cough and cold are coming as well at the office as well as my kids' school. This transformation of weather is quite annoying if you're not prepared. I guess we just have to stay fit and ensure we have enough multivitamins to go through the days.

My family and I are moving to a new house soon We have been struggling with the high level of humidity which affects my hubby's health. Nothing's wrong with the house as it is the newly-built unit but with the position of the house and the lack of sunshine to the house, the house is damp. Well, we already got the new house and starting November 15th, we will move to Khandallah. Hope all is well and the moving process is smooth. We have to pack our stuff again and it's quite back-breaking LOL. Anyway, we are so excited with the new house and it's way bigger, more modern and lovely. Can't wait, can't wait!
