WW: Orchid Forest Cikole

Who loves orchid here?
Allow me to join you then, as I am a big fan of Orchid.
This wonderful flower has long been stealing my attention (and my heart) for its unique appearance, mysterious aura, and purple shades.
Well, obviously not all orchids are purple but most of them are!

Welcome to Orchid Forest, Cikole.
We just found out that there is a place called Orchid Forest Cikole when we decided to browse around Lembang.
Check out my previous post on De Ranch Lembang when we had fun riding horses and horse-drawn carriage in such a beautiful environment, with Mount Gede-Pangrango at the backdrop.
After spending around 2.5 hours at De Ranch, we decided to go further up to see Cikole.
My husband loved this place because he used to go downhill with his team here.
This is one of his videos there.

So when we drove up from Cikole gate, we asked the officers in charge what attractions are available up there. He told us about Orchid Forest which is just recently opened and that it's a beautiful picnic spot with so many Instagramable spots.
Without further due, we paid the tickets and off we went up.

Here's some snapshots from our trip to Orchid Forest, Cikole, West Java.

It is truly a beautiful and peaceful place.
It took us around 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Bandung to Cikole.
Through Jalan Raya Tangkuban Perahu or the the main road to Lembang, the trip might be a bit tricky due to traffic.
But beautiful surroundings, fantastic view, cool fresh air, and wonderful orchid forest is waiting so it worths the trip.

The ticket is only Rp 30.000,- per person (adult and kids I guess) and Rp 30.000,- for car parking. I believe it its cheaper for motorcycle. Since the forest is located slightly up in the hill, we still have to drive for about 20 minutes up from the gate.

I really love this moss ball! super cute!

Orchid Forest Cikole is located at Cikole, Lembang, Bandung, West Java.
This place is open at 9 AM to 6 PM.

As we came here during the weekend, it was quite packed. Many groups were coming to this place as well at that time. So you could hear dangdut music here and there LOL.
But one thing for sure, everyone was having FUN!

Do you like orchid, too?
Do you plant them at home?
Which one is your favorite?
Will you come to this place as well?

WW: De Ranch Lembang, Indonesia

Welcome back, people.

Weekend just passed and we had a wonderful one indeed!
Spending 3 days in Bandung (partly mixed with my works and meetings), the Frakarsas,  ma petite famille, managed to enjoy Bandung at its best.

Bandung, the capital city of West Java Province, has long been known as the paradise for creativity, - be it in the forms of fashion, culinary, music, art performances and more,- as well as wonderful weather and gorgeous landscapes.

This time, we drove to Lembang, another popular spot near bandung which is located n the upper part or at the feet of Tangkuban Perahu mountain. It took us around 50 minutes drive from Dago, Bandung.

Destination: De Ranch Lembang

De Ranch in Lembang is the place where you can have family-packed adventures in the open farm with wonderful landscape. Here we can try horse or pony riding, horse-cart or Delman ride, fun boat trip, gold hunter, fishing and more!

My daughter Obi loves horses and ponies so much.
Obviously, she wanted us to take all those rides and since I couldn't ride the horse (I'm too fat for it, that's what they said his), we took the delman trip followed by the horse trip for Obi and my hubby.

Before enjoying the horse riding, we took a walk along the farm and it was lovely!
We took pictures of the horses and since the warning that horses can bite and kick, we pretty much took a safe distance.

The surrounding area is also beautiful.
Green lush forest framing the majestic Tangkuban Perahu mountain, fresh purple-and-pink wild flowers spreading on the field. Not to mention the fresh, clean cool air we breath.

beautiful purple flowers
The delman ride was also fun!
The three of us, - Bo, Obi and I (three persons maximum in this cart) rode this traditional horse-drawn carriage around the farm for about 20 minutes.
Not bad at all!

Fun boat ride!

What we loved most is the horse-riding of course.
My hubby and Obi were truly enjoying their ride!

Cheers..
For sure, I will share more on the next post.
Stick around and will be happily back with more only for you!

WW: Bandung - Jakarta by Train

"Naik kereta api, tut tut tuuut
Siapa hendak turut..
Ke Bandung, Surabaya..."

That's one of the famous kids' song during my childhood.
As freely translated, the lyrics say like this:
"Taking the train, chuu chuu chuuu
Who wants to come?
To Bandung, Surabaya..."

somewhere in Bandung

Last Wednesday, I went to Bandung by train.
It was only a 3-hour visit (super short indeed) but I really enjoy my trip there.
Some snaps to invite you to take the train ride to Bandung as well.
