Throwback Tuesday: Cinque Terre in a glimpse

Imagine this.
One beautiful starry night.
We walked along Via Dell'Amore, the path of love. serenaded  by the melodious sound of the waves as they gloriously meet the rocks at the shore, I was holding hands with Bo and my hubby, who were pushing Obi's stroller.

So serene.
So beautiful.

Manarola, seen and captured by my hubby, Rudi :)

It was Easter Break 2011.
On our last months in Geneve, Switzerland. Obi was about to be 6 months when we decided to 'abuse' our last spring break in Europe before heading back to Indonesia in summer. So, we searched for the nearby cities with fabulous landscapes and we found these strings of 5-city which have been included as the UNESCO world heritage villages. Five beautiful cities in a row? Why not.

The fact that Obi was 5 months old didn't stop us from planning this joyful trip.
And we did :).

It took around 6-7 hours drive from Geneva.
Taking Mont Blanc tunnel, we drove around the scenic route and stayed in La Spezia for 2 nights. From there, the visit to the villages of Cinque Terre is very managable. We bought the ticket for entering the villages and took the train to go there.

A lot to see for sure, as we strolled around those 5 UNESCO-world-heritage villages.

Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore.

Here come our lovely memories in Cinque Terre, Italy...

Four of us really enjoyed our time...

Having light lunches near the sea, fantastic seafood for dinner in those local rustic restaurants, and endless photo sessions for sure. Most of the time Udi, my hubby, was behind the camera. While I took some as well, as I just couldn't stop admiring the surroundings. So many beautiful things to see.
The art works, the colorful houses, beautiful landscapes.
Truly the feast for our eyes!

We walked around Via Dell"Amore.
Hiked in the olives trees trail.
Sat under the sun.
Relaxed by the sea and the rocks under the sun.
Bought some local fruits and stuff.
Laughed and enjoyed the bond of our petite famille.

Priceless.

Still from Manarola...

Well, it was another beautiful journey indeed.
And memorable.
I sincerely hope the kids would also remember that.
The warm and reassuring heart, as we strolled along Cinque Terre, hand in hand.

Obi was sleeping so it was just the 3 of us :)

Throwback Tuesday: Hiking with Bo at Gstaad

Another Throwback Tuesday is here and another piece of beautiful memories is ready to be shared.

Switzerland has been known for its breathtaking beauty.
For sure, Bo and Obi, who was born later in 2010 in Geneve, had a wonderful time here. As you know, our #itchyfeet started here, as a matter of fact :).

In one occasion, we were lucky enough to have a lovely trip to Gstaad in Spring 2009.
Being utterly famous as one of the royal families and celebrities' favorite hideouts and weekend gateway, Gstaad is indeed breathtaking. Not to mention the famous international boarding school  and the five-star ski resorts beautifully scattered here.

Situated in Bernese - Oberland canton, it took around 2 hours to drive here from Geneve.
You can definitely take train as well as SBB, the Swiss train system, has trips to Gstaad from different part of the the country.

I was actually there for work. That means meetings :).
We had a two-day discussion related to the issue human rights but as it was done almost on weekend, I decided to bring my petite family here as well. Obi wasn't born yet so it was just me, Udi et Bo.

While I was in meetings, Bo and Udi had a chance to stroll around this beautiful city. And went hiking as well. When they came back, they showed me these beautiful pictures of Bo and the breathtaking landscape of Gstaad.

Here are some of our sweet moments in Gstaad.

Throwback Tuesday : Europa Park with Bo

Time for another Throwback Tuesday in My Purple World

This time, I have some memorable pictures from our fun Easter Break back in 2009 to Europa Park, Rust, Germany.

It was surely loaded with fun :)

As theme park lovers, my family and I joined our dearest friends on a road trip to Rust, Germany.

Destination? Europa Park indeed.

From the morning till its closing time, we enjoyed endless rides, roaring laughter and screams, as well as great photo sessions.

Obi wasn't born yet at that time.
But she surely asked me where she was while looking at this post :).

Do you have a lovely memory to share this Tuesday?
Join me then...

Throwback Tuesday: A Visit to Prague, Czech Republic

Time for Throwback Tuesday here at My Purple World.

This time, I will take you to the beautiful Prague, Czech Republic.

We had a wonderful visit and road trip to Vienna, Bratislava and Prague back in  2010. It was during the Easter Break, when we enjoyed 4-day holiday in Geneva.

The famous clock

I remembered vividly when we spent some times in the beautiful Old Tiwn Square of Prague. Enjoying its famous astronomical clock there.

Not to forget the famous Charles Bridge....of course.

Although it was still a crispy cold Easter weather, but we certainly took some times in this lovely bridge. A lot to see and surely awesome...

We strolled around by the river, overlooking Charles Bridge afar.

We didn't have Nadine yet at that time and Bo was only 4.

How we truly enjoyed the quality time with our loved ones :).
Including that blue helicopter baloon.

And finally, before heading back home, we had a glimpse of Prague at night..
More than happy to go back here :)

Throwback Tuesday: Bo et Obi

I decided to put more sweet, unforgettable memories and photos in my blog. I know I probably put a lot already but I guess I still have more to share here.

As you probably are aware of, I started blogging seriously in 2014. Or perhaps late 2013, if you consider moving my files from soon-to-be-close multiply account to blogspot as blogging :). But I have such incredible memories and experiences while we stayed in Geneva, Switzerland in 2007 - 2011, or even way back in 2005 - 2007 when we lived in Melbourne, Australia.

Tons of photos? Sure.
Unforgettable moments? Abundant.
Shared? Only a few :).

So I decided to start my own Throwback Tuesday series. And I would like to invite anybody to join me as well. Any pictures and/or stories that bring the good out of you, your family and friends, or simply anything that worth a share will be warmly welcomed. I won't bother with links, bloghop or anything. If you like to share it to the world, like I do, just simply post your entry and use the title, Throwback Tuesday.

So now, to start with, here's what I have.
Some mementos from Geneva, Switzerland, with the pictures of my angels, Bo et Obi.

My daughter Obi was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 2010. We took this pictures at Mas Habib and Mba Alma's house, using their beautiful antique set of chairs. Then Udi decided to use one of the apps to process the photos et voila, this is what we have.

While the following photos of Bo were taken in our first days in Geneva. Still staying at the hotel, Bo was a happy 11-month chubby boy when we arrived in the land of chocolate and cheese. Do you notice the resemblance of the two?

So, that's what I have at this point.
