WW: Tegal Mas Island, Lampung, in a glimpse

Back to Lampung this weekend and how we love it!
I have been wanting to go back home as I had traveled around in the last 2 months.
Maybe I haven't shared before but while I was in Jogjakarta for ASEM seminar, my hubby and my kids rushed to Lampung because my mother in law was hospitalized. They went back home as soon as my hubby heard the news that his mom was admitted to ER in Lampung :(. Good thing everything was fine after a while and she was released home. That's why went back to Lampung again the following week, with me this time.

Besides having a mini family reunion, we also decided to relax for a while and enjoy the many beautiful beaches Lampung has to offer.
This time, let me take you to  Tegal Mas Island, Lampung.
Has anyone visited this island before?
Welcome to Tegal Island..

So, the original plan was me going diving!
But apparently, my Dive master as well as my diving buddies were super busy with sooo many wedding invitation that weekend so many of them couldn't make it. Since we were in Lampung already, we just didn't want to miss the opportunity to enjoy Lampung famous beaches. And since we haven't been to Tegal Mas Island, which is relatively new, we decided to go here for swimming and snorkeling.

Before I share more stories about it, let's take a look at Tegal Mas Island, Lampung,  in a glimpse

WW: Home Sweet Home

I guess I have shared some sneak peak of our house some times ago.

Our living room. And the wooden stairs :)

Well, it's a working progress up until now as I still have a lot of boxes to open and furnitures to set up. And it's tiring LOL.

So far I really love our living room and dining room.
The vintage tiles make it unique.
Just like we wanted it since the beginning.

The vintage tiles we use

favourite corner..now we're working on the kitchen set. All white :)

A little purple touch

I really thank my hubby for considering my ideas of adding some wooden touch here and there. And voila...I got the wooden stairs plus wooden Indonesian-tradisional- vintage-inspired furnitures. Plus the tiles!

Do you like the tiles?

Well, as we have more stuff now, I just added a few homey touches here and there to our home sweet home in Rawamangun, Jakarta.
Some Indonesian traditional-inspired sofa and chairs have been added as well.

Our comfy Ikea chairs :)

So, that's what we have now.
Will share more from our home later on, including our journey during the almost-two-year renovation.
Do you like vintage-inspired home as well?

WW: The Majestic Anak Krakatau

The Majestic Anak Krakatau, located in Sunda Strait, Lampung
I was privileged to see Anak Kratakau, an active volcano, from close proximity, during the educational trip to Krakatau Islands.

Anak Krakatau, an active volcano

We managed to stop at its black sand beach, after we got the permission from the local natural resources conservation body.
We went there for educational and research purposes as the follow up of international seminar on Krakatau held a day before.

Let me share some photos here, before writing and sharing more stories from the series of events at Lampung Krakatau Festival 2018 which I attended.

When we went there, the volcano was still active

WW: Launching of Lampung Krakatau Festival 2018

I was joining the launching of Lampung Krakatau Festival 2018 last week, held in Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia.

It feels great to be back home and directly involved in the preparation of one of the most colourful Festivals in Indonesia.

I was impressed by the beauty of Lampung being displayed in various videos, photos, and live entertainment.
It all brings back such great memories I have when I was a kid and being raised in Lampung.

The Festival was officially launched but the Minister for Tourism of Indonesia as well as the Governor of Lampung.

And the food!
How nostalgic and yummy at the same time.

WW: Heavenly Bodies at the Met Cloister

Heavenly Bodies at the Met Cloister

Have you been to the museum lately?

Weeks before I go back home to Indonesia, I spent so much time strolling around the museums at NYC.

One of the most outstanding exhibitions I have enjoyed so far is Heavenly Bodies, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

heavenly bodies, Cloister Museum, NYC

This top-notch exhibition is beautifully showcased at the Met Fifth Avenue and the Met Cloisters museums.

the angel...

Curated by one and only Anna Wintour (for sure you have heard of her or her version at the Devil wears Prada :)), you will see how incredible the exhibition is.

Those fascinating dresses are beautifully positioned among the permanent collection of the Cloister. Beautiful, religious, yet extravagant.

Check out some of the photos I took I there.
