Marhaban ya Ramadhan

Marhaban ya Ramadhan

Nothing else to say but wishing you all, my dearest Moslem sisters and brothers,  a blessed and solemn Ramadhan

Ramadhan will always be the special one.
This is one holy month which is better than 1000 other months.
This is the month when we can surrender fully to the Almighty, reading and listening to the beauty of His words in the Al-Quran and whispering those prayers to the sky and His paradise.
This is the high time to purify. To bring back our heart and soul to its blessed path.
To share kindness and patience, to forge the virtues we all hold dear in our hearts.

To me, Ramadhan is the reflection.
Time to take the journey back to my deepest soul.
To admit my wrongdoings and refrain myself from repeating them.
To fully realize how blessed we all are.
To share more happiness and kindness to others.
To be honest and stay true to ourselves.
To set the real priorities in this so-called life.
And more importantly, the After-life.

And this year, Ramadhan is even more special, thanks to Corona virus.
No sholat jamaah, or praying together at the mosque.
No gatherings in places of worship as well as other public places.
No rituals like hunting for takjil or the special food for breaking your fasting, or buka puasa bersama, breakfasting together, except with your nuclear family.
No mudik, going back home for Eid-al Fitr, the victory day, as we have to stay put in our home to fully observe social and physical distancing and flatten the curve, to avoid wider spread of the virus.

But that, should not dampen our spirit to seek His blessings and guidance.
To cleanse our heart and soul in this blessed month.
To return to our fitr.
To win our battle against our own demon.

In this trying time, never forget that Allah SWT will always give us the best scenario in life.

"Verily, with every difficulty, there is relief" Quran (94:5)

May Ramadhan bring you peace, pure joy and happiness, in Allah SWT's blessed path

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Ramadhan is here!

And we are so blessed to be able to meet this holy month again. My family and I went back to Lampung again for some errands as well as paying homage to our big family. It becomes sort of a tradition in many part of Indonesia that before Ramadhan starts, we visit our family as well as the graves of those members of family who have passed away. Ziarah or visiting the graves of our relatives is often done days before we start fasting and later on the D-Day or the Eid-il Fitr or Lebaran.

Sunset at Sari Ringgung Beach
Back to Lampung before Ramadhan

We visited around 10 relatives' graves, starting from my father, our grandparents as well as uncles and aunties and other extended families. They buried in different cemeteries so we went to around 4 different places.

Visiting my late grandma, who passed away in 2018 when we were in NYC

It was such solemn moments when, after all those years being away from home, we no longer meet our grandparents or extended families but on their graves. I lost my grandma and my uncle in 2018, when my hubby lost his dad in the beginning of 2018 as well.

I also visited my dearest Papa's grave.
I miss him so much and Ramadhan always reminds me of him.
All those great memories come pouring in and I can't help but smile and wish he enjoyed Allah's heaven. He is always in my prayers.

Again, the best thing we can do at this point now is to send prayers to them and hope that they have wonderful after-life in heaven.

Nenek or my grandma's grave..
Meanwhile, on a lighter note, we went back to the snorkeling spot in Lampung on the last days before Ramadhan. We obviously had tons of fun! Never get enough of Sari Ringgung Beach and its snorkeling spots.

At Mahitam Island..

This time we ventured to Mahitam Island as well, slightly different from the previous islands, Tegal Mas and Tegal Perak. We snorkeled in two different spots and this time we saw many jelly fish. Well, apparently it's the season and we really had to be careful not to touch this graceful yet dangerous creature. Stay away from its tentacles.

My hubby and my daughter enjoying the crystal clear water
We bid farewell to the beack around dusk, beautiful orange-and-purple sky really melt our heart. Sunset on the beach will always be heartwarming.

As we are ready to enter the holy month with a pure heart, the masterpiece of our Creator, -the sunset - is a vivid reminder of His great creation. May we all have a wonderful and blessed month, filled with joy, peace, and tranquilty.

And after the first sholat tarawih, the additional sholat done only in Ramadhan, in the mosque near our house in Lampung, we headed back to Jakarta as office starts at usual in the following Monday.

WW: Marhaban ya Ramadhan

Have a blessed Ramadan

The blessed month of Ramadhan is here.
Alhamdulillah..
My family and I are so excited to welcome the sacred month that is better than 1000 months for us.

And that's why we should do our outmost to repent.
It is never too late to repent and "whatever you have of favour, it is from Allah" ~ Quran (16:53)

So, to all my dearest family, friends, and colleagues wherever you are..

WISHING YOU ALL A BLESSED RAMADHAN

May Allah SWT shower us with continued blessing, peace, and joy during this holy month.

Spring at Madison Square Park, NYC

Enjoying spring so far?
Just like me then.
I hope you won't have issues with pollen and allergies during this colorful season, so that you can enjoy it fully.

don't you just love it!

I went strolling around the Flatiron and Madison Square Park a few weeks ago.
I always love this area as it has beautiful park, Flatiron as one of the NYC landmark, and Eataly, one of my favorite stores and restaurants.
The Madison Square Garden itself is a public park located in Flatiron and NoMad area.
Officially opened as a public park in 1847, the Park dubbed its name from President James Madison, who was heading the US in 1814.

NoMad itself stands for North of Madison Square Park and it's quite self-explanatory.
Boosted with hip hang-out places, cool cafes and beautiful garden, this park is indeed one of my favorite as it's not that from my office.

Love the blooming flowers

This spring, this park is blooming with beautiful flowers and art works!
I truly enjoy lovely hydrangeas, hollies, redbuds, and more here.
Chirping birds singing happy songs make it even more magical.
Feels like strolling around the garden of eden!

We can also see Empire State Building, another landmark of the Big Apple, from different angles here.
I just love to experience with my phone and take pictures here and there.

And as you can see, it was a beautiful spring day.
Although the sky was not that blue, but the popping colors from the trees, potted plants and the surroundings really boost up my spirit!
Who wouldn't love those rose tulips coming in different shades.

And there, as you walk around the corner, you will see the Flatiron standing majestically.
I have taken pictures of Flatiron so many times, including Flatiron in Black and White posted before, but still it never fails to amaze me whenever I'm around.
So here's another shot of this cool architecture only for you, with grayish sky in the backdrop.
Looking at all this beautiful part of the world, I can't stop admiring My Lord for all His blessings and kindness.

"So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me."
Al Quran, Al-Baqarah: 152

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
Ar-Rahman 55:13
