Again, Happy Chinese New Year

This time I managed to attend Festival Imlek National 2019 at Jakarta International Expo from 7 - 10 February 2019.

I came with my kids and they love the lion dance and fireworks!

It was sooo fun!

And RED is obviously the color!
I guess they say it brings good luck,
No wonder our OOTD or Outfit of the Day was dominated with red.
Care to know what I wore?

I was happily wearing
- red Funtastic, Boombastic Indonesia (courtesy of the Consulate General of Indonesia in NYC); 
-wide leg pants from Macy's;
- Fedora hat I bought from American Market in Ueno, Japan;
- Jelly fish earrings in red and purple from @uniqlykamea (check her cute IG) 
- and Sketcher's sandals in black and ribbons 

While Bo was wearing:
- Starwars t-shirt from Uniqlo 
- camo shorts from Gap
- Yongky Komaladi sandals

Obi as cutely wearing:
- bedtime is my kryptonite t-shirt from Macy's
- White pants from Gap
- glittery sandals from Oshkosh B'Gosh
- daddy's hat from DC comics

Happy Chinese New Year 2019

Happy Chinese New Year to those who celebrate it!
I pretty much enjoy the Imlek decoration in many parts of Jakarta, including this one I took at Terminal 3 Soekarno - Hatta International Airport.
This year is the year of the Pig, although I don't really understand what it means.

We have many Chinese descents in Indonesia and that's why, we usually witness many interesting events for the celebration of Chinese New Year here.

We are quite familiar with Chinese zodiacs, moon cake, and angpao, that red envelope filled with money. When I was a kid, I used to have that from my parents' friend who celebrated Chinese New Year. It was fun indeed.

The long weekend is here!
Although not exactly a long weekend for me as the UN still has some meetings during the President Day as well as the Chinese New Year!

These are some fun photos we took while celebrating the Chinese New Year in Paris back in 2010. Always fascinating to see how colorful the world cultures are! We were traveling with a big group of people,- our big family in Geneve I have to say,- who love photography as well What a fun trip indeed!
And I really missed it! 

I have been using the time to upload some photos on my social media accounts.
Well, some photos are taken during our trips dated back in 2016 and apparently untouched!
Let alone the stories piling up in my drafts :).
Well, I guess I will have to do them one draft at a time!

It's not easy to juggle between my family and kids,  full-time job, and appealing New York City! So much to, so little time.
Especially as I'm counting down to going back home to Indonesia this summer.
 
Do you sometimes feel the same way?
Like you don't wanna miss anything but you know you are tired and just need to pause for a bit. Well, I bet I will soon work it out!
