Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Marhaban yaa Ramadhaaan

Hi, everyone.

Wishing you all safe, happy and healthy days ahead. Alhamadulillah,  the holy month of Ramadhan is here. For all my Moslem sisters and brothers, my family wherever you are, wishing you all a wonderful and solemn Ramadhan. May Allah SWT, the Almighty, bestow us with His endless blessings and guidance over the challenging days ahead.

As you know, Ramadhan is the ninth month in Islamic calendar and Moslems all over the world celebrate the arrival of this super special month. Ramadhan is also the month when Moslems fast from sunrise to sunset, implement self restraint and avoid from eating, drinking, conducting sexual intercourse, and doing bad/sinful things as well as avoiding negative thoughts.

This is the month where those who faithfully follow the Holy Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW (PBUH) receive multiple rewards for all the good deeds conducted and forgiveness of all the sins. This is also the month when the special gate in paradise, named Ar-Rayyan, dedicated to those who fast.  The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also once mentioned, as quoted,  “For those who fast, there is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayyan, through which no one but they will enter. When the last of them has entered it, it will be closed. Whoever enters through it will drink, and whoever drinks will never thirst again”. This haddist is narrated by Sahi Bin Sad, Sunan an-Nasa’i. Not to mention Laitul Qadar, a very powerful and special night which comes mysteriously in one of the nights in the last ten nights, the last one third, of Ramadhan. This one night is better than a thousand nights, as said in the Holy Quran Surah Al-Qadr 97 : 3.  Those are some of the benefits we can have during Ramadhan and I will be more than happy to share more along the way.

Nevertheless, during this pandemic, things haven't been back to normal and we all still need to do so many adjustments. That includes our fasting month and the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr. This will be the second year where we are strongly requested to restrain ourselves from doing "mudik" or our tradition of going back home to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr, the victory day. Well, although many of us have received the vaccines but that doesn't guarantee that we are immune from the virus.

We hope you will enjoy your visit and find something that arouses your interest and don't forget our hostesses blogs that they share as well.

Amazing Sunday at Hello Sunday Metropole, Jakarta

Amazing Sunday at Hello Sunday Metropole, Jakarta

Hi, everyone!

Fancy enjoying favorite dessert in cozy restaurant? Oh yes, I love it!

Recently I have been scouting lovely eateries around my office and my home to enjoy some of the best Indonesian culinary, fusion food, desserts, beverages and more. It is part of my mission of supporting local businesses, reviving our passion towards Indonesian traditional food and beverages, as well as the joy of spending some quality time with my hubby and my family.

One of the places we recently visit is Hello Sunday, a lovely cafe and dessert located in Metropole, Cikini, Jakarta, Indonesia. I have seen their IG account but haven't got a chance to actually come and visit until last weekend. I came to the office because I needed to get the antigen test and together with my hubby, we decided to stop by at this lovely place.

Hello Sunday has been famous for its cakery and desserts. It has a few outlets across Jakarta. When we arrived, we had to go through the health protocol including temperature check and washing hands. It also follows the procedures of only accommodating  50 percent of the capacity so we don't have to worry about the physical distancing. The tables are sanitized as well.

the cozy corner at Hello Sunday

When I came, they had just released Ube soft serve a couple day before. It was purple, yummy and uber cool. This soft serve ice cream comes with roasted almonds, marshmallows and caramel popcorns. When you look at it you will definitely fall in love with it. And that is just the ice cream, my friend!

We have so many more incredible food and beverages worth trying in the menus. Let's have a look.

One of them is the mood booster, fresh cold press with perfect combination of orange, carrot, pineapples, lime, and apple. Not to mention Putu Waffles, famous Belgian waffles but using kue putu dough with pandan leaves. This waffle is indeed lovely. Love the textures of the waffle and the taste is also exquisite. It is cool to see a lovely blend between Indonesian traditional recipe and famous Western food like waffles.

don't you just love it!

They certainly have more but we only tried all these sweet plates. And we love them all! Here you can also enjoy mac and cheese, chicken waffles, steak, fish and beef burgers, pizza and more. They also have rice plates like fried rice, basmati green fried rice and the one with lamb. They even have gyudon and salmon don here, as well as salmon and quinoa.

Price wise, the food and beverages are priced in typical rate as Jakarta's cafes. So I say it's worth a try. With the quality food and beverages they serve, I guess it's worth it.

Well, obviously, this place is super lovely. we were helped by Irlang, one of the waiters, and he has been super helpful and fun indeed. Don't miss this place when you are around and I bet you can have an amazing day at Hello Sunday Metropole, Jakarta. See you on our next culinary adventure!.

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple WOrld, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Welcome back!

April is kicking in and boy, I have 'spring' blooming in my office in terms of works LOL. Many of my friends, particularly whose who live abroad, are enjoying spring now. All those bursts of colors! I love it. And I have to say is that I do miss enjoying spring abroad.

Meanwhile, I almost flew to Kupang, the capital city of East Nusa Tenggara, as well as Rote Island in the surrounding area, on last Sunday. We have got everything ready,- the antigen test, the issued ticket, all the programs and nitty gritty of conducting our program there. Then disasters struck! Cyclone storm, flood and landslides hit Kupang, Rote and the surrounding city. All our prayers for the victims and hope everything will soon be back to normal. We cancelled our flight on early morning Monday and thank god we still have His protection from all these natural disasters. I cannot imagine what would have happened if we continued our journey there! Merci ya Rabb!

I am back to the office and as much as I enjoy it, I do get overwhelmed with the works. One of our team members is taking her maternity leave and the other one is joining a compulsory training as well. With me having my office on et off between my own leadership program, things can be a bit complicated. Yet, we have all the deadlines and we will have to find the way to work on it. I have reports due in June (and it's a big report indeed with a lot of negotiations and awareness raising programs) and more coming in between. We might have to make some traveling during the Ramadhan. Again, wish us luck!

Jakarta has been nice and cool

We are also blessed to be able to welcome Ramadhan soon. What a special month it will be and I sincerely hope we will have all His blessings and repentance in this holy month. We are getting ready for the fasting month and gearing up our faith and perseverance. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Meanwhile, let's join me on Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends. Have fun joining the link party!

Have a great week, Happy Spring!

WW: Night Dive at Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung

Night Dive at Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung

Here we go!

Continuing our adventures in Tanjung Putus Island, this time I will share the night dive we did there. Speaking of night dive, it was my first experience of doing such thing. I had so much fun indeed and with all the precautions and preparation with my Dive Master and our team from Corona Diving Club (yes, we got the name long way before the pandemic).

We had our night dive at Tanjung Putus island as well and we didn't really dive too deep. Although it was similar to the dives we do during the day, since it is done at night we have to get more prepared. We brought our diving flash light, knife and wore the suitable wet suit. I still bring my camera and put the flash on. It was quite an experience, although I really have to juggle with sea urchins.

Here are some photos I took during the night dive.

So, what do you think about Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung? Worth a visit ya?

I can't wait to go back there for another wonderful stay and dive there again. Hope to see you around soon, Lampung.
