WW: Beautiful Butterflies

I really miss going to the park and capture the beauty of nature.
Being at home, and confined only to the limited places in surrounding areas and my office for the last 3 moths makes me  feel like I need to go out.
But of course, even with the new normal, plus my pre-condition, I should be extremely careful about going out.

I know some of the parks and public places have been open but somehow I don't feel save yet to be outside with many people. I still see many people are not wearing masks properly and keeping the space between. For now, I still stay mostly at home and come to the office on scheduled days, not too frequent.

When I miss the amazing world outside, I peek at my photo collections and try to rekindle the joy. Looking at the photos of this wonderful butterflies, for example. does bring me joy. It feels good to see what awaits us out there once the pandemic can be controlled.

These photos were taken in Papilliorama & Nocturama, Kerzers, Switzerland, many many years ago, in one lovely spring day. I remember that Bo was still a young boy at that time and we hadn't had Obi yet. Since Geneva, Switzerland, is our first assignment abroad, we were super excited to explore the  country. Such a lovely memory indeed!

How bout you?
Do you have your favorite ways of rekindling joy while staying at home?
Any tips for fighting COVID-19 pandemic, including how to tell the kids about Corona virus?

WW: Musée d'ethnographie de Genève

I was lucky to get a chance to Musée d'ethnographie de Genève during my last working visit to Geneve.

Early morning, before our flight in the afternoon, we took the bus to go to the Museums, aiming at  Musée d'ethnographie de Genève (MEG) and Patek Phillipppe Museum. I came here with my colleague, Nenda, who never visited Geneva before. So, it was like a trip down memory lane for me while acting like a non-professional tour guide for her. Fun!

Welcome to the MEG
First stop, we visited  Musée d'ethnographie de Genève and we only enjoyed the permanent collection, the free showcase, due to our tight schedule.

The Archives of Human Diversity, that's the name of the permanent collection of MEG. I have to admit that the collections, although not that many in terms of numbers, are certainly the selected ones. Carefully curated to show various objects of reference, rich in history and artistic works, the permanent collection of MEG is too good to pass.

Here are some photos I took during our visit and you can see why we love it so much and highly recommend this place to those visiting Geneva.

The dolls from ...hmm, I forgot

Too bad we cannot take any pictures at Patek Phillipe Museum but we did enjoy our visit here as well.

Here's the map of the Museum.

I will get more details about the Museum soon okay.

Meanwhile, let's join our (almost) Wordless Wednesday and have fun with the links!

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Wishing you all a wonderful week, wherever you are.
I am once again traveling to Geneva, Switzerland as we have the 42nd session of the Human Rights Council running from September 9th - 27th.
Preparation is tough as at the same time we are also preparing for the UN General Assembly, where our Vice President is attending.

Nevertheless, I tried to make some times and enjoyed Switzerland at its best.
So, as I have shared previously in WW: One Lovely Saturday at Gruyères, Fribourg, Switzerland, the clear blue sky and wonderful view prove to be the best remedies for my travel-related fatigue.

My lady... at HR Giger Museum, Gruyères
Before that, during the transit, we also explored Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.
Another wonderful place to enjoy indeed!

WW: One Lovely Saturday at Gruyères, Fribourg, Switzerland

Back to Switzerland for meetings, I can't help but feeling excited to see and enjoy its beauty again.
We arrived a day before the meeting so I was lucky enough to go traveling around with some friends in Geneve, my dearest Priamajar's family.

This time, the wonderful village of  Gruyères is our choice.

Welcome to Gruyères
The village of Gruyères is awesome as ever.
Inviting restaurants with unique aroma of fondue, music harmoniously played by street artists and clear blue sky above. The Castle is a majestic proof of grandeur past that stood through the test of time. And for sure Gruyères cheese is among the most delicious cheeses in the world.
See, I don't need more reasons to visit this wonderful place.

We drove to Gruyere for about 1.5 hours from Geneve.
Arriving at around 12.30, perfect timing for lunch, we strolled around the village before sitting at our 1-PM-reservation at Chalet du Gruyeres.

Bienvenue à Gruyères.
Super delicious fondue du Chalet was waiting and we truly devoured it.
Couldn't get enough of it!

Fondue, viande seché, cornichon et du pain!

Although we didn't visit the castle and waiting in vain for a glass of coffee and chocolat chaud at the one and only HR Giger Alien Bar, but we really enjoyed our day.

HR Giger Museum..

Look at the details..

Here are more snaps from our one lovely Saturday at Gruyères, Fribourg, Switzerland.
Enjoy!

Beautiful aisles..dotted with colorful flowers

Cute cows!

I just love this door!
So, will you visit this beautiful place of Gruyères?
