Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple WOrld, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Welcome back!

April is kicking in and boy, I have 'spring' blooming in my office in terms of works LOL. Many of my friends, particularly whose who live abroad, are enjoying spring now. All those bursts of colors! I love it. And I have to say is that I do miss enjoying spring abroad.

Meanwhile, I almost flew to Kupang, the capital city of East Nusa Tenggara, as well as Rote Island in the surrounding area, on last Sunday. We have got everything ready,- the antigen test, the issued ticket, all the programs and nitty gritty of conducting our program there. Then disasters struck! Cyclone storm, flood and landslides hit Kupang, Rote and the surrounding city. All our prayers for the victims and hope everything will soon be back to normal. We cancelled our flight on early morning Monday and thank god we still have His protection from all these natural disasters. I cannot imagine what would have happened if we continued our journey there! Merci ya Rabb!

I am back to the office and as much as I enjoy it, I do get overwhelmed with the works. One of our team members is taking her maternity leave and the other one is joining a compulsory training as well. With me having my office on et off between my own leadership program, things can be a bit complicated. Yet, we have all the deadlines and we will have to find the way to work on it. I have reports due in June (and it's a big report indeed with a lot of negotiations and awareness raising programs) and more coming in between. We might have to make some traveling during the Ramadhan. Again, wish us luck!

Jakarta has been nice and cool

We are also blessed to be able to welcome Ramadhan soon. What a special month it will be and I sincerely hope we will have all His blessings and repentance in this holy month. We are getting ready for the fasting month and gearing up our faith and perseverance. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Meanwhile, let's join me on Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends. Have fun joining the link party!

WW: Night Dive at Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung

Night Dive at Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung

Here we go!

Continuing our adventures in Tanjung Putus Island, this time I will share the night dive we did there. Speaking of night dive, it was my first experience of doing such thing. I had so much fun indeed and with all the precautions and preparation with my Dive Master and our team from Corona Diving Club (yes, we got the name long way before the pandemic).

We had our night dive at Tanjung Putus island as well and we didn't really dive too deep. Although it was similar to the dives we do during the day, since it is done at night we have to get more prepared. We brought our diving flash light, knife and wore the suitable wet suit. I still bring my camera and put the flash on. It was quite an experience, although I really have to juggle with sea urchins.

Here are some photos I took during the night dive.

So, what do you think about Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung? Worth a visit ya?

I can't wait to go back there for another wonderful stay and dive there again. Hope to see you around soon, Lampung.

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

 Here comes April!

Any particular things or activites that you are expecting this April? Well for sure I will go back to the office work more regularly as the first part of my national leadership training is completed. I have made probably more than 15 presentations, papers, and countless discussions and deliberations on various issues and theories, online and offline, during the course of 2 months. I have taken some initiatives to work on the issues of refugees and asylum seekers in Indonesia, particularly  on the issues of data sharing and collaboration with international organisations dealing with this. Wish me luck!

We will then be given the time to implement the proposal we have put forward and learn more about leadership in action. I have set up my team, work with many different stakeholders and hopefully we can achieve the goals and make some changes needed on the ground. I have to say I am excited indeed.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, we are now preparing for the holy month of Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah.. Allah the Almighty still gives us the chance to repent and share all the good things we have to those who need them the most. I am blessed to have the opportunity to share it with my lovely family. My mom is still here in Jakarta, together with my niece, so we will celebrate the solemn Ramadhan together. It might start in the midst April and beforehand, I have some work-related visits to do. Hopefully all is well for that as well.

Now we will have our usual Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends. Have fun!

Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung from above

Hi everyone.

Allow me to invite you all to enjoy Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung from above.

These footages are taken from drone controlled by my hubby during our stay in Green Bay Resort, Tanjung Putus Island, Lampung. Such a pristine beach and lovely place for families for sure.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. More detailed stories are coming indeed and bare with me, please as I am in the first phase of tests for the leadership training program I join.

Join us on (almost) Wordless Wednesday and have fun with the link party indeed.

Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park, Tokyo, Japan

How I miss traveling so much!

It has been quite some times since I travel abroad. Since the outbreak of Corona virus in the beginning of 2020, - or in March 2020 for Indonesia, the world has unravelled the unprecedented series of events, which involve physical distancing and restrictions in traveling.

Here I am now trying to revisit my memories (and my external hard disks LOL) to rekindle the joy of traveling.

One of the places I enjoyed during one of my long transit in Tokyo, Japan back in the last quarter of 2019 is the Meiji Shrine in TokyoLocated in  1-1 Yoyogikamizonocho, Shibuya City, Tokyo 151-8557, Japan. I stopped by in this very spot on my way to Shibuya district as well as Harajuka. I traveled with Vienna, one of my junior colleagues in the office. We didn't really have much time but we tried to enjoy the trip.

Meiji Shrine is a vast place surrounded by by lush forest and beautiful garden. Since we didn't really have much time, we only saw the small part of this great place. As we had just landed early morning after a direct flight from Jakarta with ANA, one of my favorite airlines. We were tired yet so excited to see the city again. Meiji Shrine is our first stop.

Meiji Shrine was built and dedicited to the spirit of the famous Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Emperor Meiji reigned between 1867 to 1912 and Meiji the Great, as he was known, transformed Japan into a modern, industrial world as we know now.

Being remembered beautifully this way is really something indeed. What I like about this place is the fact that it's very close to the subway line, especially JR Yamanoto Line, especially Harajuku station. Our next stop at that time was Harajuku street obviously. Yoyogi Park, which offers beautiful forest and garden, is just around the corner as well. It was actually a good walk for me and Vienna as we have just spent some times sitting for 6 hours straight in the airplane during the flight. Not to mention the fresh air that we enjoy while strolling the park.

Here are some photos I took while strolling around the area.

one of the gates

While strolling around the park, we saw many sake drums being displayed in wooden frame. Those drums look big and artistic, coming in various colors depending on the origin of the sake. I have seen some in many Japanese restaurant before but not this many. It was fun to watch indeed.

the sake drum from various areas in Japan. So lovely and artistic

Btw, I am sad to hear that the Olympics would be rescheduled but I can imagine that we all need to take all the precautious steps to protect all from COVID-19. I still remember seeing all the banners and excitement of Tokyo for being the host of the Olympics. Well, I guess we just have to wait and see.

So that's a little story about my visit to Japan. I wish I can go back soon and come and visit the Doraemon museum, my fave!

Well, I do miss Japan and I sincerely wish I can visit this amazing country again. Meanwhile, stay safe, happy and healthy!
