Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Happy to be back home to Lampung

Here comes another week in January and I have to say that life continues to roll.

Works are already demanding as always and I do hope my enthusiasm and positivity won't be depleted too soon. Again I am blessed to have a great team and we try to work things out. One step at a time. Wish us luck. 

We managed to come down to Lampung as well. That's our first trip in 2021 outside Jakarta. It seems like it becomes sort of a routine now, spending the first days or weeks of the new year in Lampung. In two consecutive years, we have celebrated the new year in Lampung. This year, because of the pandemic and the big scale of restriction in the island, we stay put after our little break in Bali. Although we have a long break, but again we were confined at home.

So, we were excited to go back to Lampung and even got a chance to visit one of our favorite islands and go snorkelling. Well, it was fun and some photos can be seen at my previous post (READ: WW: Taman Nemo, Pahang and Kelagian Island, Lampung). And whenever we went back home to Lampung, we just crave to go back there soon.

WW: Taman Nemo, Pahawang and Kelagian Island, Lampung

Welcome to Pahawang and Kelagian Island, Lampung

Hi everyone... Ready to enjoy a lovely weekend with The Frakarsas? Join us then!

Nothing brings me more joy than going out to the sea and enjoy its beautiful underwater world. Well, although I don't always have the luxury of going diving with my club in Lampung, I always try to sneak a snorkelling trip whenever we visit Lampung. 

We took our first trip in 2021 to Lampung on the second week of January.

The trip was quite smooth as it was no longer the holiday season.

Let's go to Taman Nemo, Pahawang Island, Lampung

During the weekend, we were back to the sea we love so much again. As we have tried many snorkelling spots around Lampung Bay, this time I ask my boatman to take us to different corner to see other places and hope for better, healthier corals with more fish, I know that pollution, climate change and crowded environment due to irresponsible tourism activities, have driven the fish away and killed many soft corals around the area.

I remember hopping on et off in the same place like 5-6 years a go and the fish is so abundant. That is why I hope we can still save this beautiful place on earth and preserve its amazing nature.

So long story short, after a 40-minute boat ride, we arrived at Taman Nemo, Pahawang Island, Lampung. It was the 9 of us that day so it was quite a crowd. As usual, we brought our own gear, food, drink and stuff we need. I brought my underwater camera and my hubby brought his drone. We definitely had so much fun with them!

Without further ado, my family and I started our snorkelling session and explored the area. It's good to see some corals and anemones are healthily intact on their natural habitat. But still I expect to see more fish although in reality we saw some but not too many. Nevertheless, I was happy to see big puffer fish, a school of angel fish, muray eel, clownfish et others. My boatman even saw a sea turtle. And the clear blue sky made the trip even more beautiful.  Here are some photos I took during out trip.

Hi everyone... how's the second week of January treating you?

The whole nation is mourning due to the tragic incident of Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 in the Thousand Islands area near Jakarta. 62 crews and passengers perished in this accident. The evacuation is still undergoing now and the FDR or the black box has been recovered. May all the deceased rest in peace... Innalillahi wainaillaihi rojiuun.

Work wise, we continue with the program in my department. There are so many adjustment as we have restructuring of budget due to the process of vaccination across the country. National health security is indeed the top priority and the state's budget as well as policies will focus on that. Our Minister has officially released the annual press statement outline all the achievements in 2020 as well as our priorities in 2021. Well, we all need to focus on the safety of the people and measures to handle the damaging impacts of the pandemic to the societies, be it in the economic sector and others. Now that the vaccines are available, hope we can manage the pandemic better!

Jakarta and Indonesia in general is entering the rainy season now. We do have a few disasters in some areas but hopefully it won't be too many. During this time, we have to be extremely careful with our health. Hopefully all of us can stay safe and healthy, wherever we are.

WW: Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong, Nusa Penida, Bali

Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong are some of the beautiful spots we visited during our trip to Nusa Penida, Bali.

Just like many parts of Nusa Penida Island, Broken Beach as well as Angel's Billabong are indeed lovely and unique. Looking at its distinct geographical features, I guess the name 'broken beach' comes from that particular shapes of the rocks and corals surroundings the area. So does Angel's Billabong.

Compared to Kelingking beach and all the rigorous track we have to go through to reach it, visiting Broken beach and Angel's Billabong are like a walk in the park.
