Hi, everyone.

Hope you all safe and sound, wherever you are. 

I have been enjoying my days at home as much as I could. Mostly doing some packing, I focus on fulfilling all the requirements needed for my next assignment while at the same time overseeing some works at the office.

The 76th session of the UNGA will be starting soon, while the 48th session of UN Human Rights is ongoing. With two heavy - loaded meetings happening at the same time, you can imagine how crazy the workloads are. We have been working extra hard with the team and fingers crossed, hope things will work well as scheduled. As always, UNGA session always has many surprises. This year, similar to last year, the discussion will be focused on our fight against COVID - 19. How we can recover together and stronger from all these rampant damages caused by the pandemic. 

My Minister, as well as some small team, has dispatched to New York City. We didn't send big group although my President will be joining the session through pre-recorded messages. Well, this time of the year, I usually go to NYC for all these meetings. This year will definitely be different as we have to avoid unnecessary traveling and only for the most important one. Well, I have to admit I really miss NYC. Its vibrant vibe and even never ending noise of the sirens proves to be something I crave LOL. Well, hopefully I can go back here one day and reunite with the Big Apple.

Welcome to Pasar Sunan Giri, Jakarta Timur

Who loves exploring traditional or local markets?
I do! I really do.

One of the advantages of going back home to Indonesia is that we are surrounded by lovely markets selling fresh produces, food and beverages, as well as items you usually find in the market. It is so colorful and mesmerizing, at least for me. 

Recently I have stopped by at Pasar Sunan Giri. Pasar means market and Sunan Giri is the name of the street around the area. The visit was of course conducted by following the strict health protocol. Well the market was not crowded either, unlike the time before the pandemic.

I was looking for some fabrics to match my collection of traditional fabrics. My daughter and I do need some new clothes to bring to our new post and we try to use the time we have.

So, we enjoyed strolling around the market to see what they have in store. We bought some fabrics, buttons, pom - poms and accessories which would be used for our dresses, outers and kebayas.

Hi, everyone.

September is here and every beginning of September, we are celebrating my mom's birthday. How fun! For sure, whenever we can, we have a little celebration at home, just among us. No party, no gathering whatsoever. Just us. 

My mom is still staying with us here in Jakarta. She hasn't gone back home to lampung for quite sometimes due to the pandemic. Well, we enjoy having here around. She is a jolly and free-spirited person who loves cooking (and traveling as well, at least before the pandemic)  so much and my kids adore her. Grandma is always the best when it comes to home cooking and spoiling department. 

So, in this auspicious ocassion, we would love to wish my mom a joyous and blessed birthday. May Allah SWT bless her life, surrounded by her loved ones. Barakallah fii umrik ya mamaaa.

We had the cakes and some nasi kuning for this celebration. Although it’s not a party but it’s good to meet my brother and sister-in-law. We’re glad that we all save and sound so far. Alhamdulillaaaah.

WW: The Beauty of Indonesia

I know that August is almost coming to an end and I still want to celebrate this glorious month where we all celebrate Indonesia's Independence Day.

It has been my intention since I was young to go around Indonesia and witness its magnificent beauty from different provinces.

So many to enjoy indeed, starting from its amazing landscape and natural wonders, incredible food and beverages deriving from its abundant and indigenous sources, wonderful handy crafts and art works, heart-warming and friendly people, intricate designs and vividly colorful fabrics, and astonishing cultures. And that's not all as you will have lovely surprises as you travel around the country.

I know that the pandemic has restricted us from traveling around and exploring its divine beauty, but I take the liberty to take 'virtual tour' through my blog, external hard drives, social media platforms and more.

It has been quite entertaining and is considered satisfactory until we can actually go out again and travel without fear. How I long for that time.
