Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Hope everyone is well and here comes another round of Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends.

It has been another solemn week of Ramadhan for me and my family, with virtual as well as hybrid meetings in between. For sure I have done 2 extra antigen rapid tests and 1 PCR to ensue that I am well and fit before and after meetings. With the new variant of viruses and how infection spread even faster, we take a lot of precautions. Even for the Eid al - Fitr, we are prohibited from making trips back home or what we warmly call home coming. Usually, days before the end of Ramadhan, we will be traveling back home and ready to spend the victory day with the family and your loved ones. But then I guess with the latest development of cases developing in India and other countries as well, it is for the benefit of us all that we stay at home and reduce mobility. Lebaran Day will be as solemn and victorious as it can be without us gathering in big crowds or making some trips. We have seen how the cases in India get worse and worse and I believe we all have to learn from it.

Anyway, all of us at home is happily continuing our Ramadhan. The kids are so used to it and it's always comfortable to celebrate Ramadhan at home. The kids have finished their online classes and only getting some exercises through Google Classroom. They help us clean the house, cook and bake, and take care of the kittens. We have been cooking a lot at home and/or receiving food hampers from friends.

Ow, have I mentioned that we have 3 new kittens? Let me introduced you to PJ, Ink and Yellow. All of them are super cute indeed!

Cheers from Cemong, Yellow, PJ and ink somewhere there LOL

Now, as always, let me invite you to our weekly party , Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends is ready!

Nook Restaurant, Bali - Wonderful Eateries in the Middle of the Paddy Fields

Do you look for wonderful ambience to enjoy around your meal?

Well, I do!

Whenever I get a chance to come to one particular area, I would definitely try to find unique, wonderful restaurant to enjoy.

On my last trip to Bali, I managed to eat in Nook, one cozy restaurant in Kerobokan, Bali. Although I was traveling during Ramadhan, we managed to stop by at lovely restaurants in the area, including this one.

Nook is a great place to chill, relax, and taste the food while enjoying the soothing green Paddy fields in Bali! The ambience and the interior design are so homey and inviting as well.

Don't you just love it!

We went here during Ramadan and we came by to have Ifthar with friends. They do have this lovely ambience because the restaurant is located in the middle of the rice field. So as you enjoy the food and drinks, you will be serenaded by breeze, wind chymes, and singing birds. How do you like that? Super peaceful indeed.

You can definitely order yummy, delicious food here. Find yourself a melange of Western food as well Indonesian and Balinese food to your liking. Here you can have burgers, steak, and pasta as well as sandwiches. They also serve Indonesian food. As for drinks, there are a lot of choice you us to explore. Again, including Indonesian beverages like teh sereh and jahe merah or red ginger.

I tried the Nasi Campur Special, the traditional Balinese plate with complete mini main course starting from rendang, chicken, urap or fresh veggies, sambal matah, tempe and tofu, corn fritters and sate lilit or minced fish satay a la Bali. Super good! I have my infused water and lime ginger hot tea. All is delicious. My friends tried Sirloin steak, spaghetti, and ayam geprek.

Cozy spot we have here...

The service is fast, waiters are friendly. They are very friendly indeed and for sure they can give you all the recommendations for the best food and beverages you like.

I really love the decorations, comfy seats and sofas as well as the ambience here. Let's take a look at photos I took around this cozy place.

The parking lot is not that big but there are staff who can help you finding the spot nearby as well. So parking is manageable. This place is disability friendly as well and again the staff will be more than happy to help. Happy to recommend this place for sure!

So, will you come here when you are around?
I sincerely hope so! And see you on the next adventure!

WW: Mie Bakso Kocok Bandung, Rawamangun, Jakarta

Mie Bakso Kocok Bandung, Rawamangun, Jakarta

Foodie time!

I have been exploring some local food vendors near my house in order to support the local businesses. COVID - 19 pandemic has poses tremendous challenges to all of us, including the small and medium scales businesses. Traditional food vendors are amongst them.

I was lucky to live in the area where food and beverages are abundantly available. Ranging from fancy, international chain food outlets to Indonesian traditional F&B vendors which surely will tempt you to try them all.

Last week I went to warung (Food stall) Mie Bakso Kocok Bandung, meatball soup from Bandung, West Java. What's unique is that this noodle soup use 'yellow' or egg noodles and vermicelli if you like and add extra fat or lard cow besides the yummy meat balls. Well, I don't know the name but it's just delicious. And I asked it to be prepared without the MSG. Still delicious!

a simple food corner but they sell great food

The price of this bowl of mie bakso kocok Bandung is Rp 20.000,- . And I have to say it is a big portion indeed.

Enjoooy!

here's my bowl. Supeer yummy!

this is what my Mom had

So that's a little brunch story in a lovely weekend for me. It feels good to get to try this homey food and help supporting the local business.

Join us on (almost) Wordless Wednesday and have fun with the link party.

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday in this sweet February

Here comes February, the month of love, as many would say.

The beginning of the month is dotted with my back - to - back virtual meetings as well as my doctor visits. As I have probably shared in previous post, this year marks the 5th year of me consuming the hormones suppressant due to my breast cancer. I am so ready to stop taking Lezra if everything is well. I need to do many screening test to ensure it. Hopefully everything is fine and my cancer is NOT coming back in any ways nor forms. Wish me luck!

Back to hospital to check things out!

Anyway, I have been exploring so many local businesses near my residence and as I have shared in my Google Maps account, I have many more to try and enjoy. It is a bit tricky as we still have rampant COVID - 19 cases but as I take a long walk to have my daily exercise, I sometimes ended in those food stalls for takeaways or if it was not too crowded, I ate on the spot swiftly. Last week, my mom and I tried mie kocok bakso Bandung, a typical Bandungnese meatball soup with egg noodles and vermicelli. The other day we bought gudeg Jogja, krecek and perkedel at one of the food stalls in Rawamangun traditional market. Then we also tried es cendol, a traditional beverage from the vendor around the area. Well, it feels good to support the home-based and local business while at the same time making sure our health is well protected. How is you week so far by the way?
