Geneve in a glimpse... un petit note #1

Another chapter of our nomadic life...

Welcoming our little family (Obi was not born until Des 8, 2010) to Geneve, the international capital of Switzerland, we stayed here from November 2007 to the end of June, 2011...

Well, well, what should I say...Geneve has taught and given us many beautiful lessons and memories..Lovely new friends and families, breathtaking landscape with clear blue skies and clean air, mind-blowing workloads which proven to be beneficial, and sooo many more...

Not to mention Nadine Anja Frakarsa, born December 8, 2010 in L'hospital de la Tour....Those were just a tiny fragments of our lives in Geneve...

I dunno whether this can be considered too late but as always, better late than never...So perhaps, I can start having my scratchy notes published :D..

Let's start with the very moment when we arrived "D..

November 27, 2007...Dry, cold winter welcomed us to Cointrin Airport, Geneve... warmly welcomed by Om Toto or Judo Hertanto et Om No, Hadi Soetrisno inside of the passport , we met Kang Acep Somantri outside...then we headed to NH Rex Hotel, which is not so far from the Mission's office..and we also got our first welcome-kit, with rice, instant noodles, juice and cookies, among others :D...very handy, indeed...

Surprisingly, right that evening, we had our welcoming party :D...yup, as Ambassador Makarim was on his way to quite a long trip, so we had farewell-combined-with-welcoming party for us, Mas Cahyono who arrived together with us.

The greatest love of all with Mas Ryan :D
Singing was, as always, involved...with greatest love of all this time...and Mas Ryan, a very talented musician, sitting behind the keyboard...well well, it was quite a  nice gathering...especially as we found out that Udi has his long-lost auntie, Tante Nur, residing here for more than a decade...

The food was lovely as well, mostly Indonesian...perfect for us who just landed in the land of chocolate and cheese :D

Bo was enjoying his first gathering in GE..with rosy cheeks already...

happy Bo and his favorite toy, cellphone...
Then, our days began...amidst the cold weather, it took a while for us to adjust with 10-degree C and decreasing on our first days..Not that easy at all, even when you have wrapped yourself well. In fact, Bo suffered from ear infection in our first weeks in GE..lucky us, the doctor - who happened to be very nice and good-looking :D,- lives only a block away from the hotel, so we can just walk there.

Then, the first quest for us was looking for an apartment ...and here's when the real 'battle' began, as finding suitable accommodation can be as hard as finding your soul mate (seriously :0). You have to take your time, tender all the choices one by one, apply to so many  you couldn't remember which, and let it choose you (yuuuup, you don't always have the luxury to actually choose your fave one :( )...
 ck
And I think I have a full note on that :D...and I'll be back...
