Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls, and Friends

Cheers from the three of us..

This week has been busy and tough for me.
Tons of classes and assignments, trips here and there, and unfriendly weather.
But the show must go on indeed.
So I just go with the flow and try to enjoy the process.
Besides, this week we are going to have a field trip to Pontianak, West Kalimantan, to see the good agricultural practices at palm oil plantation.
Can't wait, cant wait!

But one thing for sure, we have to be extremely careful as Indonesia has the confirmed case of COVID 19. We take precaution and travel cautiously while maintaining our health always.

Meanwhile, as I am brushing up my diplomatic skills, my kids are getting ready for the exams. My son will soon face the final exam while my daughter is finalizing the classes before the mid term tests. Quite stressful for all of us but hopefully we can pass with flying colors. Wish us luck, people.

WW: Dago Highland Resort, West Java

We are welcoming ourselves back to Bandung.
As you have probably been aware of, my sister-in-law just got married a week ago and we are now taking her to Bandung to meet her new family.

It was my hubby's family who are traveling from Lampung, stop by in Jakarta for one night then travel together to Bandung. It was the 9 of us in total. Good thing we didn't experience traffic except by the time we reached Pasteur toll gateway, the entrance of Bandung. In less than 3 hours, we have arrived in this Paris van Java city.

Welcome to Dago Highland Resort

This time, we decided t stay in Dago Highland Resort.
We visited the house of our sister-in-law new family house in Dago and therefore we chose this area to stay the night.

The resort is located at the top hill of Dago Pakar.
As you can imagine, the resort is okay, just average unfortunately, but the view is amazing.
The joy of listening to the sound of birds chirping, inhaling fresh air, and enjoying wonderful vista is priceless!
Here are some photos I took during our 2-day stay in this place.

Flood in Jakarta, February 2020

Flood in Jakarta? Nothing new, I said.
We all know how horrible the flood was as we had a big blast in the beginning of 2020.
Many areas in Jakarta, Tangerang and greater area of Jakarta and West Java.
What happened in January was horrid and it took a while to take care of it.

But then, last February 25, another wave of flood came to Jakarta and the surrounding areas. Constant heavy rain poured since the night before and the result was another episode of disastrous flood.

I live in East Jakarta, which is not immune from flood but usually only happens on the roads, not literally flooding the houses. My house is safe and not affected, but the roads near us was flooded.

It was not really a problem if I didn't have to attend my diplomatic training :).

As the class was not dismissed, I braced myself to commute with my hubby. Using his KTM bike, we rode the flooded street to reach the Center of Education and Training on the other side of the city. I firstly tried to take the bus but it was stuck due to the blocked or flooded roads as well.

We took detour here and there to ensure the road we chose was safe enough. we lined up with many drivers and riders to take turn passing the roads flooded yet safe enough to go through.

And Alhamdulillah, we made it!

On time!

Meaning I was not stuck in the traffic

So, long story short, we had a happy ending and arrived safely at the CET as well as home.
I even managed to record some short videos and take pictures along the way.

I sincerely hope we have no more floods in Jakarta and the surroundings.

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

This week have dreadfully slow.

Well, it gets tougher and tougher to start focus in the class as at the same time we have so many daily deadlines of the assignments. Well, whatever it is, I sincerely hope I have the energy to finish them all.

Meanwhile, Jakarta is sadly flooded.

Again.

Heavy rain came since the night before and constantly pouring in almost every part of Jakarta. The flood is coming back them.

If at the beginning of the year my area was safe from the flood, this time it's different.

My house is totally safe but the surrounding areas are not. As I need to get to my class on time (yup, no excuses with the flood unless we are directly affected), we took the motorcycle to go to the Centre of Education and Training on the other side of the city. I saw it myself how the flood was devastating.
