Tiga Puluh Sembilan

Thirty-Nine.

That's how old I am now.

The numbers might look slightly intimidating but girl, how I feel so young at heart!

Alhamdulillah, sudah begitu banyak nikmat-Nya yang diberikan padaku dan keluargaku.

Dalm setiap hela nafasku.

Dalam seluruh butir peluhku.

Dalam semua bisikan doaku.

Dan Gusti Allah memang maha kaya dan maha pemurah.

Setelah dua tahun menyandang status sebagai survivor kanker payudara, salah satu nikmat terbesar dari-Nya adalah nikmat kesehatan. Betapa sehat itu tak 

tergantikan bahagianya. Dan untuk tetap sehat, kita memang harus selalu berjuang! I'm not saying that I am totally into a super healthy life style. A foodie like me, adalah satu tantangan terbesar untuk berhati-hati dengan makanan. But at least I try to live healthier. Physically and mentally. And that's the spirit!

But I'm not going to dwell on that.

Not in this post.

I just want to say how grateful I am to be here. Right now.

With all the greatest things God has bestowed upon me.

With all the love from my beloved family and friends surrounding me.

Ada bisikan penuh cinta dan pelukan hangat yang diberikan ketika waktu berganti tepat tengah malam menjadi tanggal kelahiranku.

Dan kartu istimewa yang diam-diam dibuat oleh Bo, Obi et Bapak bertuliskan I love you Mom because you are special.

Juga senyum lebar ketika kado kecil yang disumputkan di bawah bantal dan diberikan di pagi buta.

Serta saat tiup lilin bersama rekan-rekan tercinta dan menikmati black forest lezat.
Plus banyak doa dan salam hangat dari teman-teman dan keluarga di berbagai media.

Ditutup dengan makan malam istimewa dan berburu Pokemon bersama.

WW: Red Train at Honesdale, Pennsylvania

Who loves riding the train?

We do.

And we somehow found this lovely red train during our last visit to lake Wallenpaupack, Pennsylvania. It's in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, to be exact. The trains are not used anymore but still beautifully preserved.

Enjoying summer so far?
Me, too, although I haven't really get my summer break as we still have meetings and works to do at the office.

Somehow we managed to have a little gateway to Lake Wallenpaupack area, Pennsylvania, and enjoyed our weekend there.
Beautiful, serene area where we can 'unplug' our body and  soul for a while.

We had a lovely rowing session.

Coupled with great Indonesian food and more.

Truly blessed indeed

Sebelum saya menulis lebih jauh tentang teman baruku yang satu ini, toss dulu ah dengan mba Santi. Sebagai sesama ibu pekerja yang memiliki 2 anak,  I feel you, mba. Bukannya saya mau memulai perdebatan mengenai staying-at-home mom and working mom lho, tapi paling tidak kami memiliki tantangan tersendiri yang harus dihadapi dalam memastikan keluarga terurus dengan baik, sementara kita pun tetap bisa berkarya maksimal di dunia kerja yang kita pilih. Sebagai seorang karyawan yang bekerja penuh di kantor, kami harus pandai-pandai mengatur waktu dan jadwal agar semua tertata dengan baik. It's not always that easy but we can manage that.

Saya menikmati blog Mba Santi yang penuh warna alias gado-gado.
Mulai dari Valentino Rossi, sampai cara membuat perkedel jagung dengan praktis dan tips bergaya dengan gaun pilihan. Mulai dari mencari dokter paling oke untuk keluarga hingga tempat berenang paling hits dan populer. Ada juga tips et tricks berbelanja irit tapi lengkap,  plus tempat-tempat belanja yang oke punya. 

Mba Santi juga rajin menulis untuk berbagai media dan mengikuti aneka lomba blog. 
Satu fitur yang saya suka dari blognya Mba Santi adalah daftar isi yang lengkap dan terklasifikasi. Beneran mempermudah lho, mulai dari buah hati atau parenting, kesehatan, jalan-jalan, dapur kiteu alias resep, sampai kategori terbaru, olahraga :). Belum lagi aneka job review maupun ulasan produk yang bermanfaat serta serba-serbi yang isinya gado-gado. Ada juga puisi lho...dan sains & teknologi. 
Ih, lengkap banget yaaaa. 
Thumbs up untuk mba Santi yang sudah mengeksplorasi kemampuannya menulis dalam berbagai tema.
Rajin banget deh mba membuat daftar isi itu lengkap dengan linknya.

Beauty - Kat Von D Studded Kisses in Wolvesmouth

Siapaaa yang suka dandan di sini?

Sayaaaa.. #tunjuktangantinggitinggi :).

Don't get me wrong.. 

Saya senang dandan, tapi ya ngga canggih-canggih amat. Jauh dari jago malah. I love make-up, like most girls do, but I am still learning some ropes on how to do it perfectly, if not properly.

Masalah klasik seperti eyeliner yang berantakan, lipstik belepotan, sampai blush on yang terlalu kinclong masih menjadi problem setiap saya berhadapan dengan make-up kit yang asli ada di mana-mana. Maksudnya di tas, di kamar, di meja makan, di kantor, sampai di mobil.

Tapiiii ... Penyakit perempuan (baca: Indah) kan sama saja.

Iya, saya ngaku aja deh. 
Dengan lawan negosiasi saya di UN, saya bisa galak dan tegas. Dengan suami dan anak-anak pun demikian (kalau diperlukan). Tapi saat mampir di gerai kosmetik terkemuka, yang entah kenapa ada di jalur subway yang saya lewati hari-hari menuju kantor #salahkanrutesubway #bisapindahjalurpadahal, hati pun terpanggil.
Kalau sudah begini, dengan langkah mantap dan hati bulat, saya pun mampir dan berujung di belanja produk-produk kecantikan yang memang saya (pikir saya) butuhkan.

Dan lipstik... entah kenapa, selalu menjadi pilihan utama yang mengisi keranjang belanja saya. Sebatang pewarna bibir yang seolah punya kekuatan magis dan selalu bisa membuat saya memilihnya dengan senyum lebar dan hati senang.

Jangan heran kalau lipstik saya numpuk!
Dan semuanya, surprisingly, saya pakai lho.

Ini benar-benar lipstik favorit karena saya sudah 3 (iya betul TIGA) kali membelinya (lagi dan lagi) dengan warna dan jenis yang sama.
Kenapa saya suka?
Because it feels and looks good on me.

Have you ever heard of Kat Von D?
Sudah pada tau dan kenal Kat Von D dong...
Kalau belum, silahkan di google aja :). Tatto artist yang ngetop banget lewat serial reality show LA Ink ini memang one of a kind.
Saya pertama 'ngeh' dan berkenalan dengan Kat Von D saat tugas ke New York untuk sidang tahun 2008. Baru kenalan aja, belum akrab dan belum beli produknya yang memang di-lauch tahun itu di Sephora. Sepintas saya inget Kat seperti Dita Von Teese, artist burlesque beken yang menjadi salah satu model t-shirt kampanye Marc Jacobs untuk NYU Skin Cancer research. Tapi Kat is more like an artist to me, with the knack of creating those gothic style shades and colors.

Karena keahlian dan keunikannya dalam seni pertatoan, Sephora tanpa ragu meminang Kat untuk mengeluarkan her own cosmetics line di tahun 2008. Dan memang bukan pilihan yang salah, karena produk KvD, singkatan beken Neng Kat, memang jadi hits dan laku keras. Untuk lipstik, sebenarnya ada 2 jenis, yaitu everlasting liquid lipstick dan studded kisses, seperti yang saya akan review.

Studded Kisses come in so many shades, 39 to be exact, but my favorite is Wolvesmouth.

Kenapa saya suka Wolvesmouth? Karena shading ungu yang paling pas menurut saya. Dari begitu banyak lipstik yang saya punya dan pakai, mostly memang warnanya ungu. But wolvesmouth is a perfect blend of  deep plum with perfect amount of glitter that brightly color my pout. Kadar keunguannya pas untuk saya. Ungu tua yang solid dengan sedikit efek glitter yang mencerahkan.

Totally cruelty free, that's what Kat promised us.

Here's what I copied from her website about this daring studded kisses lipstick:

"Each long-wear, pigment-rich lipstick is formulated with Color Cushion Technology™ to keep your pout feeling comfy and velvety soft. Just swipe it across lips to lock in bold, badass color with unstoppable wear."

Pretty convincing, right ;).

For the packaging, one solid black tube with studded diamante 3-D effect and KvD signature tattoo is lovely to look at.  They said that it was inspired by Kat's studded cuff. 

O la la...Kemasannya saja sudah menunjukkan 'jiwa' Kat yang rada radikal dan menggemari gothic look.

my favorite hue..

Deep purple but still bright as I love it :). Makanya habis tiga tube karena baju dan aksesories saya kan banyak yang ungu, jadi lipstik ini matching untuk dipakai.

The perks

Buat saya, satu yang membedakan Kat Von D Studded Kisses dengan lipstik merk lain yang sejenis adalah kelembutannya di bibir saya. Jangan salah lho..studded kisses memberi efek matte tapi tidak kering. Akan lebih baik kalau kita memakai lip primer sebelumnya but even without it, you can still feel how comfy it is on your lips.

Selain itu, warnanya yang bold dengan hanya sekali usap membuat lipstik ini awet dipakai. Saya rata-rata menghabiskan satu tube untuk sekitar 4 bulan, karena memang warna favorit dan sering dipakai lagi dan lagi. Boros pakai bukan karena warnanya tidak 'keluar' tapi karena pakainya keseringan  :).

Satu lagi yang saya suka, membersihkan sisa lipstik ini tidak sulit. Paling tidak tidak sesulit lipstick or lipstain lain yang saya suka pakai. Sisa lipstik yang dipakai setelah makan atau minum menghilang dengan rata, tidak 'bocel-bocel' seperti lipstik lainnya.

Dibandrol dengan harga $21 sebelum pajak atau sekitar $23 di New York City, lipstick ini benar-benar bersaing dengan merk lain yang memiliki spesifikasi sama di kelasnya seperti Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, Lime Crime, Stilla, Too Faced, Kylie cosmetics dan teman-temannya. So in the price department, KvD Studded Kisses lipstick is surely affordable.
