WW: Get your mammogram #finishthefight #gopink

October is the month for Breast Cancer Awareness.
And I am more than happy to join others in raising more awareness this month to ensure the fight against breast cancer continues.

Let's start it with early detection.Get your mammogram!

loud and clear...get your mammogram :)
fight, fight, fight..

Blog, My Labour of Love

"Mommy... How long should I hold this?"
"Mommy.. Are you done taking  pictures?"
"Mommy... Can I eat this?"
"Mommy.. Are you sure you don't want to take picture of this and put it in your blog?"
"Mommy.. What are you doing waking up in the middle of the night?"
"Mommy.. Is that me in your blog?"

Rentetan pertanyaan yang kerap dilemparkan Bo et Obi saat melihat mamanya tengah berasyik masyuk dengan blognya, My Purple World.

Blog, my labour of love.

my underwater selfie...apaaa cobaaa..

Atau Tanpa malu-malu selfie sana-sini dengan berbagai gaya demi Outfit of the Day.

Tapi sungguh, buat saya, blog is a labour of love.

Because this is my battle.

You see...
Blog is not just a mere post.
For me, again, blog is my labour of love :).
It is the reflection of who I am.
My blog, My identity.

ngeblog dengan segala ceritanya...seru pokoknyaaa..

Sepintas blog memang bisa membuat saya lupa diri, tapi alhamdulillah saya selalu bisa kembali ingat my real priorities and the essence of blogging itself.

Tambah cintaaaa ngeblog ;).

Beneran deh....
Blog membuat saya semangat menjalani hari.
Blog membuat imajinasi saya terus berputar tak henti.
Blog membuat kaki saya terus melangkah menjelajahi berbagai sudut bumi.
Blog membuat saya percaya bahwa sharing is the healing process itself.

So, to me, there is no enjoyment like blogging. How about you?

New York Sky this Fall

Fall.

My favorite season.
Ever.
It's just around the corner and I can't wait to enjoy those magnificent fall foliage New York beautifully offers.

Fall is coming soon :)

It gets red already :)

The blue sky.
Clear blue sky.
Crispy chill air mixed with the chirping sounds of lover birds singing on the redden-leaves tree.
Truly music to my ears :).

we started the ride from my Ambassador's residence :)

We went out to Pelham Bay Park and the Glen Island Park in the surrounding areas near my Ambassador's residence in New Rochelle, New York.
Bo et Obi went out and had fun riding along the Pelham Bay Bike path while Obi and I, together with some friends went to the Glen Island Park only 10 minutes drive from the residence.

And we were blessed with beautiful weather indeed.
It was around 18 degrees C with no wind.
Lucky us!

At the Glen Island Park...by the bridge :)
another day with clear blue sky :)
Fall, as always, is successfully stealing my heart :).
Already together with my hubby, we have planned to visit many places to get the beauty of fall folliage this year. We missed that last year as I was in the middle of my chemotheraphy. But I sincerely hope this year we can lure ourselves in the beauty of autumn.
And in relation to that, I also invite everyone to join my #finishthefight #gopink #breastcancerawarenessmonth campaign here :).

clear blue sky..my fave :)

Is fall your favorite season as well?

Join us on Skywatch Friday and enjoy the magnificent view of the sky from different corner of the world ;)

WW: Indonesian Diplomatic Reception in NYC

Every year, we celebrate our national day or the Independence day on August 17.
Back home in Indonesia, we have so many events in commemorating this historical day.

Abroad, every Indonesian representatives all over the world celebrate this joyous day by convening a diplomatic reception, pesta rakyat or people's party, or Indonesian Night.

So is New York.

We usually have it in October where we have our Foreign Minister in town for the High Level Segment of the UN General Assembly week.

This year I helped the preparation of the Reception with my team.
It was fun indeed...as we always try to bring home to the reception.
To show Indonesia to the world :)

The theme this year was Sumatera Night so I chose my purple-gold-red Tapis Lampung, traditional cloth from my beloved hometown, Lampung, in Sumatera Island, as the outfit that night.

proudly wearing purple-red-gold and orange Tapis Lampung and Kebaya :)

Getting ready for the reception :)
We have many Indonesian traditional food originated from Sumatera and many parts of Indonesia as well, like rendang and tekwan.

some of the desserts as well as appetizers...Indonesian traditional finger food :)

I am glad the reception went smoothly and we have many Foreign Ministers, Ambassadors and diplomatic community joining our event :).

with my Foreign Minister, H.E. Retno L.P. Marsudi

Hope to see you all again next year :)

Biking along Astoria Park

Biking along Astoria Park now becomes Bo et my hubby's new hobby.
And I guess I know why.
It's awesome...

RFK Bridge, Astoria
one cloudy day at Astoria

No wonder it becomes their favorite spot lately.
With an astonishing background of the Triboro or the RFK bridge and the East River plus smooth and spacious biking path, Bo and Udi ocassionally spend their afternoon here.
Well, almost every day when the weather permits.

And I love to see their pictures.

Bo on his bike...a bit tired I guess.

And no matter how many times they send me the pictures, they always look captivating.

Especially the sky.
And the bridge...

Under the bridge...literally..

I'm glad Udi takes some times to stop and capture those beautiful landscape.
As you can see, Manhattan skyline is lining up beautifully behind the bridge and the river.

Astoria Park itself is the pride of the Astorians, those living in the neighborhood, just like us. I have even posted several photos and entries about this Park as well.
Built in Ocotber 1913, this 56-acre park was extended twice and now hosts the oldest and largest pool in the city, playgrounds, tennis courts, athletic field, baseball diamonds, bandstand and many more. We always enjoy the before-4-of-July-fireworks here as well as I posted here  for WW: the 4 of July fireworks :).

So, what do you think about the bridge?
Do you like biking by the river or under the bridge as well?

Join us on Skywatch Friday to see the many beautiful sky from different corner of the world
