Movie Night at Bo et Obi's School

We had movie nights in Bo et Obi's school last week, organized by the PTA.

The movie we watched was Disney's Descendants. It surely fits the Halloween theme we had this time.

As usual, we aways come and join as it's the PTA charity event and they always have great pizza ;).

For the last two years, PTA always has the movie night around Halloween time. And this year, they are inviting us to wear costumes as well for the night. No wonder my kids get sooo excited. They keep calling me at the office to make sure that I gi back home slightly earlier so that we won't be too late.

Good thing that we have our costumes ready. This year, Obi wants to be Rainbow Dash, while Bo is the ninja and mommy is the pinky-purple witch.

As I had a crazy day at the office, we arrived a bit late and the movie has started. And the first batch of pizza is gone already! They sure loveeees those pizzas ;)

But we managed to reserved some slices from the next batch and everyone was happily watching the movie at the school's auditorium munching their pizzas. And they ran around playing with friends as well ;).

Well..it was fun indeed.

I just remembered that word when I saw the sky this morning. 

Astoria Park, just two blocks from my house, is like our own backyard. 

And in autumn, it looks heavenly.

So, one balmy morning I woke up and decided to walk to the park.

When I looked up,  I just love what I saw.

So blue...

So Fall...

The Sky Fall...

I have mentioned it several time that autumn is indeed my favorite season.

There is something magical when you see those leaves changing colors gracefully. The last festivities before the winter queen is coming.

truly a beautiful Fall morning :)

And the sky is the solid canvas where I say my prayers and whisper my thanks to my Rabb.

#Obi@NYC : one morning in Autumn

I haven't posted this segment for a while now. 
And I have to admit I have sooo many pictures of Obi on her outfit-of-the-day ;). I found it easier to do that for Obi instead of myself ;).

But she is such a big girl now she is not always happy to pose for me. And boy.. She got tons of excuses for not doing that. From the classic "Mom, I'm late for school already.. " to "keep that phone away from me". Well, I guess mommy needs to curb down her obsession with the phone.

It's another story if she's wearing her favorite outfit, though. Like today ;).

She chose the pinky pants and skirt, matched with with and floral top and silvery jacket with pink lining. Ow.. And the boots, with Princess Aurora socks inside. 

And there she was.. Bringing her purple Frozen bag and blue lion lunch box.

Yup, that's my girl ..

Obi was wearing Gap white, flowery top, H&M knitted pinky skirt, 

Oshkosh b'gosh pinky pants, Uniqlo light warm padded parka in silver and pink,

Disney's socks and Stride Ride brown leather boots.

One happy autumn morning indeed...

WW: Turandot at The Metropolitan Opera

Watching Opera is probably not my cup of tea but I certainly enjoy it.

Last week I managed to sneak out of my never-ending meeting and headed to the Metropolitan Opera in Lincoln Center to watch Turandot.

Have you heard of Turandot before?

Frankly spekaing, the first time I heard about it is when I got the ticket :).
And this 3-act opera written by Giacomo Puccini is awesome.
You can easily google it for the complete story but for sure Turandot is another vivid reminder that eventually love conquers everything, including the frozen heart of the Chinese princess, Turandot :)

It was a great performance indeed, truly a feast to my eyes and ears.
The voices, the costumes, the properties...
All are so brilliantly showcased.
Although it is in Italian, thanks to the running text, I can easily follow this love story.
