Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World and Friends

 Welcome back and December is here!

I know time really flies and last week of November 2022 marks our 1-year anniversary of staying in Aotearoa! Yaaay! 

Cheers from Queenstown..

It has been a very colorful year and we, the Frakarsas, have indeed so much to be grateful for. In the course of 1 year, we have moved to 2 houses (yes, I know.. we didn't think it will be this way but reality shows otherwise), traveled to 10 cities ( I guess more) in New Zealand, and enjoy living surrounded by the amazing landscapes as well as outdoor activities. This year, I was lucky enough to visit the Cook Islands and Rarotonga are added to my new list of countries and cities visited. Super happy for sure. I hope 2023 will be even more awesome and I already have a lot of plans in mind. 

We are planning to start the year with a little road trip in the South Island. Hopefully we can fly from Wellington to Christchurch and from there, heading down south from there. We have Canterbury, Franz Joseph glacier, Lake Tekapo, Queenstown, Milford Sound, Otago, Dunedin, and Invercargill. Okay, that sounds so ambitious for sure with only 12 days but even writing it gets me super excited. Wish us heaps of luck and tons of health so we can realize all these plans.

I got a little taste of the South Island beauty as I visited Queenstown for about 3 days. I will share more but for sure, you, too, can see some shots from Queenstown and tell me what you think about it.

WW: Artwork of Dali Susanto at Sylvia Park in Auckland, New Zealand

Just want share beautiful art works from my dearest friend Dali Susanto, a famous artist here in Napier, Hawkes Bay. Dali was born and raised in Jogjakarta but he has been living in Aotearoa for sometimes.

As I came to Auckland a month ago, we stopped by at Sylvia Park shopping mall in Auckland to get a quick lunch before heading back to Wellington again. And voila, I saw the new art work by Dali, Eat Your Heart Out. 

I have to say the unique artwork of Dali is always quirky, cheerful and colorful, yet with strong message. The one here depicted the joy of sharing your precious time with your loved ones. It's also very festive, perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

Here they are.. in one corner at Sylvia Park in Auckland, New Zealand. 

I have one of Dali's art works in purple (surprise, surprise) and I love it!

It's like his signatures to have those bold colors, shapes and patterns. And he's famous because of that!

Komodo Dragon giant lantern in Wellington 

Welcome back and how's this week treating you?

November is coming to an end and soon we will be enjoying the last month of 2022. How time flies!
We are now enjoying the new hous and with 3 stories and 4 rooms, it is certainly spacious. It's even better than what I have in mind before. Alhamdulillah, we finally get the house that can accommodate our needs and for sure, healthier in terms of humidity and less cold. Hopefully we can live better live here. 

On the other side, we have just concluded Lumino City - Wellington Lantern Festival 2022. Claimed to be the biggest lantern festival in the country, this event can finally be conducted after being postponed for about 2 years due to the pandemic. We opened the Indonesian stall and had some food and munchies as well as souvenirs being sold during the event. I also joined the performance of Angklung on the stage, where many performers from different countries joining the festival.

It was fun indeed, although Wellington was super wet due to the heavy rain on Friday. Good thing on Saturday the weather was better so we can get a comfy festival. We also have the giant Komodo, the native giant lizards from Indonesia, as our lantern and you can see how it looks on the photos here.
