Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World and Friends

Kia ora and welcome back!

I have been enjoying lovely Wellington, with some sunny and warm days.

We were super happy as well as we got the chance to actually travel to Rotorua, one of the famous destinations in New Zealand. I really love the fact that we have the long weekend so I can take my family altogether. So we manage to visit Rotorua Skyline, Polynesia Spa, Te Puia Maori Center, and the Hobbiton, the movie set for Lord of the Rings and the Hobbits trilogy! It's just like a dream come true for me and my hubby, huge fans of Sir Peter Jackson's amazing works. My kids definitely enjoy the trip as well and we even have plans to come back again here as 3 days is definitely not enough.

The kids are enjoying their schools as well and soon will have a spring break. So this week, we will be heading to Auckland and explore the city as well as meet some friends. Super excited indeed.

Hatupatu Scenic Lookout, Rotorua, New Zealand

Hi everyone..

Hope all is well and I am enjoying the beautiful weather in Wellington!

This time, I would like to share the photos of our recent trip to Rororua, one of the most favorite destination in Aotearoa, New Zealand. it is famous for its geothermal bath, amazing landscape and fun outdoor activity centers.

Let's stop by at Hatupatu Scenic Lookout, Rotorua, New Zealand. Here we can enjoy the calming scenery of Lake Rotorua. As you can see, the lake is unique with two distinct colors because it is sulphuric. It comes with distinct aroma as well but it's still manageable, at least for me.

We also stopped by at Rotorua Museum. The architecture is so beautiful but it is temporarily closed for strengthening and renovation.

At Hatupatu Scenic Lookout, Rotorua, we can also see the Lakeland Queen Cruise Boat, which I guess is no longer operating, at least for now. Here are some photos we took around the area and will be more than happy to get back to you with more details. Till then, take care!

Cherry Blossoms at Aston Norwood Garden, Upper Hutt, Wellington

Spring is in the air!

Although we still have some freezing, wet days here in Wellington, more sunshine is here. We really love to see these beautiful days and see more greens and colors from blooming flowers.

So, in one of the warm, balmy Saturday,, we decided to go and see the cherry blossoms at Aston Norwood Garden, Upper Hutt, Wellington.

It was 40 minutes drive from Wellington to this beautiful garden. It's a beautiful place and although it was quite packed with visitors, the garden is still spacious for everyone. For sure, we enjoyed our walk in the garden.

As you can see, what a lovely garden to enjoy cherry blossom!

It was a bit packed as anticipated but yet ,the garden is spacious and it can certainly accommodate many visitors. I also love the fact that the patch is clear and well maintained so it's easy for us to walk from one point to another.

The ticket is NZD 10 per person, kids under 12 is still free if I'm not mistaken. For the four of us, we only pay NZD 30.

I saw some disabled persons visiting the garden as well and there are a few areas which are accessible. But there are hills and stairs as well. Toilets are available. You can also buy some flowers, trees and fruit saplings here.

You can get food, drinks and souvenirs here and they also have cafe and wedding halls.

So, what do you think? A lovely place to be, right.

For sure, cherry blossoms at Aston Norwood Garden, Upper Hut, Wellington is highly recommended!

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World and Friends

Hello spring and hello to you all!

To those living in a northern part of the world, you are now entering one of the most beautiful seasons in the year, autumn. But for us in the southern athmosphere, it's time to embrace the blossoming flowers and trees and warmer weather!

Spring is in the air!

Although Wellington still have many rainy days and freezing mornings, at least the afternoon is clear and sunny, giving you a warming feeling and excitement. This will be the first spring for us at Aotearoa and we're already packed with plans to explore the country more.

We just recently visited Aston Norwood Garden (click HERE to see more photos and story) to enjoy cherry blossoms in greater Wellington and strolled around Paraparaumu Beach plus Paekakariki Lookout. It's just lovely to go outdoor and enjoy the fresh air! Next, we have Rotorua, lake Taupo (again) and Auckland in the agenda! Hope we stay healthy and fit to do all this wonderful plan.

Moreover, work wise, we have more offline meetings and coordination. Again, it's so good to meet people face-to-face after all these years. I know the pandemic is not yet gone but with the vaccines and boosters and all the supplements as well as health supplies that we can utilize, we are confident enough to start doing our activities as we did it before. Well, not entirely the same but similar in many aspects. All in all, we are adapting with the new normal without sacrificing too much of our social life as human.
