Hello October and helloooo everyone...
I know many of us have been touched by cancer in so many ways. Either it is your loved ones, member(s) of your family, your dearest friends, colleagues at the office or even yourself.
I myself have been fighting the breast cancer up till now since I was diagnosed with it last year.
And my life has changed ever since.
It all started from a little lump on my right breast... then I have a long journey to recovery after I was diagnosed with 1-C stage.
I did my mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, breast reconstruction and 25 back-to-back radiation session. I am currently on Herceptin infusion every 3 weeks and Tamoxifen as well.
I am pretty optimistic about my #roadmaptowellness ;).
But one thing for sure, I was lucky that I had early detection.
Thanks to all those information and materials openly available from American Cancer Society and many others, I managed to get familiar with my health issues and get myself ready to embrace it.
Thanks to all those information and materials openly available from American Cancer Society and many others, I managed to get familiar with my health issues and get myself ready to embrace it.
That's why, now I would like to invite you, those living in the US and Canada as well as Indonesia, to join this campaign in this Breast Cancer Awareness month.
You can write, tell us your stories. Write anything you want about cancer, particularly breast cancer. You can share your own story about it, your knowledge about cancer, or your tips and tricks in leading a healthy life to avoid cancer.
You can also post a photo, make a poster, shoot a video, make any crafts related to cancer, anything that you see fit in boosting up the awareness about breast cancer.
Tag me, link up and grab my Photo down here so we can be connected ;).

DeleteGrandma passed away from breast cancer in her early 40's. As I've inched closer to my 40's, I grow more and more worried that I would get it too. I ended up having a genetic marker test done (like what Angelina Jolie had a few years back) to see if I had the markers for breast cancer. It's a $5000 test, but knowing if you carry the markers or not is worth it, in my opinion. Thankfully, I don't have them, but will still continue to self-check and get my yearly exams. I won't go in for a mammogram for another 4 years, when I hit 40, unless I or my doctor detects something in my screenings.
ReplyDeleteSo you have the test and you are right, peace of mind is indeed priceless. It is worth it for sure, Theresa. Keep doing the self-exambut don't stress out.. Hope everything will be good..
Deletemak indah pokoknya wanita kuat..semangat mak....
ReplyDeletemakasiiih yaaa mak :)

Delete3 words-"Don't give up" I've had breast cancer 3 times 1998, 2005 and 2006. Two aunts had it, 3 female cousins, and 2 sisters. Only one of us died from it. Stay strong and enjoy each day with people you love. Love is the only thing that matters. Rosanne rosans4@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are feeling well! I've known way too many people who have either fought cancer and beat it, or have lost the battle. Have a great week!
