#WastraIndonesia: the amazing Tenun Buna

I guess, by now, most of my friends know already about my passion to Indonesian traditional hand-woven fabrics...

It's a never ending love for sure :)

And I was so lucky I come across this incredible Tenun Buna, woven with love in East Nusa Tenggara, from my dear friend Mba Novita Yunus, the owner of Batik Chic ...

Tenun Buna has long been famous for its intricate patterns beautifully woven using colorful threads.

As you can see here, the patterns are pretty much composed of geometric forms which, at some points, remind me of clouds, colorful ones :)

At first, I feel like I wanna keep that Tenun as it is, but then, I just can't help it...
So, I turn it intooooo...

A long coat

and a hobo-inspired bag :D...

So, here I am...with my matching jacket et bag, beautifully made by Batik Chic :)

Love it to the max :D...

What do you think?

  5. setelah dijadikan baju dan tas, tenun buna sesuai jaman kekinian ya,
tidak terlalu 'berat' di pakai di kegiatan sehari-hari yang bukan acara adat.

  9. The pattern is so neat! I love patterns on clothing. You don't see heavy patterns in the US clothing as much.
