WW: The Met Fifth Avenue NYC Revisited

Hi, everyone.

Quarantine mode really puts me back on so many trips down memory lanes. COVID-19 really changes our lives and as much as I am tired of doing it, I know it is still the best choice we have for now.

So, this time, I am sharing some shots I took while I visited the Met, the Metropolitan Museum, in New York City back in 2018. I know I have posted some posts about this incredible museum because I always come back here whenever I got a chance. Even when I am no longer living in New York City, my last business trips to the Big Apple always had Museum visits in its itinerary. Yes, I do love the Met that much.

Well, here are some of the photos I managed to catch on my visit back in July 2018.

This time, I shared the visit I  took when the Met still had the Heavenly bodies exhibition. One of the most impressive exhibition they had, in my humble opinion. You can check more at my previous post Heavenly Bodies at the Met Cloister  to know more about it, when I enjoyed the same exhibition but at different location of the Met. The clothes and accessories that they were displaying are utterly beautiful.

Cheers from me

I managed to climb up to the roof top and lined up to see the exhibition they had there as well. Besides the remarkable art works, I did enjoy amazing Manhattan skyline.

the wonderful view of Manhattan in the back...

I forgot the name of the exhibition in the roof top. It somehow reminded my of aliens or at least the typical aliens we saw on the movies. Pretty unique and intriguing for sure. A bit scary as well but still interesting.

Tell me what you think!

still an enjoyable sight under the Manhattan sky..

Then I came back inside again. This time, I was heading to one permanent section showing the grandeur of the past as well. As you see on the picture above, I was enjoying the collection at Robert Lehman collection as well as more European paintings, costumes and arts. All those Victorian glamorous ball room dresses with details to die for as well as delicate paintings showing interesting scenes from the past are really attention stealer. And I can't get enough of them! Let's take a look at them closer here.

what a slim waist line..

Much simpler but still beautiful indeed. Look at the shoes..

I guess this one is the Versailles..

I was wondering where it is exactly..

Look at the details!

Anyway, you can also check out more posts I have written about the Met in different locations as well as its remarkable collection. You can see why I simply can't get enough of it.

Welcome back to Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Welcome back!

I am super relieved that my training is completed and although I have to go back to my back-to-back meetings and deadlines at the office, I am glad that one important step in my career is completed. It was quite burdensome as I have to do it back to back with all the demanding works from the office. Well, I guess it teaches me more about time and stress management, as I really struggled with those during the training. Now, I am back focusing on some deadlines and perhaps, getting ready for the next assignment abroad. Sound like a plan!

I have been wanting to travel a bit a gain but apparently I have to wait as the condition is far from conducive. We have surging numbers of cases of COVID-19 and after the celebration of Eid-Al Fitr, which for some involved family gathering and traveling in groups, we are now looking at people infected by the virus. We even have many casualties in the office and the policies of hosting meetings are getting tougher. Sometimes I feel so tired and hopeless with all the chaos created by this virus, but I know we just have to continue fighting. God, bless us strength and perseverance and this too shall pass!

Now I feel like I need to do diving soon. Hope I can do it soon. I feel like I need something to keep my spirit up and not succumb to the depression choking us here and there. Well, while waiting for the right time to go out and about again, I busy myself with works and dig deep to my external hard drive to see some cool and relaxing clips I took underwater. Well, it helps for a while. I just can't wait to hit the road and start new adventures! Wait for me, world...

WW: Desa Panglipuran Bali - Panglipuran Traditional Village Bali

Desa Panglipuran Bali - Panglipuran Traditional Village Bali
Bright blue sky in Desa Panglipuran Bali - Panglipuran Traditional Village Bali

Still from Bali, the magnificent land of the Gods and Goddesses.

This time I will briefly take you to Desa Panglipuran Bali - Panglipuran Traditional Village Bali, before I tell you all the details of my visit in the next post. Visiting Bali for god-knows-how-many-time, I try to seize the opportunity to explore all unique places Bali offers.

Panglipuran village  is located in Bangli Regency, not too far from Denpasar, Bali or around 45 km. It took us around slightly more than 1 hour due to traffic. Well, it's not that bad as you are visiting a beautiful place indeed.

Here you will experience first hand the live of the Balinese people in their natural habit and environment. You will see their beautiful, religious way of living as is, not in the form of acting whatsoever.

You will enjoy incredible Temple, traditional houses, kitchen as well as food & beverages, wonderful trekking, bamboo forest, ceremonial and sacred dances and more. The entrance ticket is only Rp 25.000,- or less than USD 2 for locals. Love it!

As you step in to this beautiful traditional village, you will be engulfed by its rich tradition and religious cultures Balinese is famous for. The colorful sesajen, the sound of the bamboo wind chimes, the kids running around freely.. Heaven! And this place is utterly clean!

Here are some photos I took in the area. Hope you like it!
