Eid Mubarak, Eid Mubarak!

Eid Mubarak, Eid Mubarak

EID MUBARAK, EID MUBARAK
HAPPY EID AL-FITR

Wishing all my dearest family and friends a wonderful and joyful Eid Al-Fitr!
May Allah SWT continue bestowing us with endless blessings.
Aamiin Ya Rabbal Alamiiin

We all know, Ramadhan and Eid AL-Fitr this year is different due to Corona.
No congregation at the mosque, no buka bersama or having ifthar party, no open jamaah Eif Al-Fitr sholat (at least for many of us, since we saw many were still doing it :( ), no mudik or going back home, no salaman or hand-shaking asking for forgiveness.

Yet, we have new traditions as well.
Virtual tradition!
Virtual buka bersama or ifthar, virtual mudik, virtual family gathering, virtual saweran or giving bonus money to the kids due to their good behaviours during Ramadhan (to be followed by transfer LOL),  and many more. We shared and chatted through various platforms, - Whatsapp group, zoom, Google meet, skype..you name it! And again, as we learn to live side by side, make a peace with this new normal, we can actually enjoy it!

We still share the same joy and happiness although we are not together physically.
This is the new normal that we all have to learn and bear.
Walaupun kita tidak secara langsung berkumpul, tapi kita tetap bisa berbagi kebahagiaan dan kesenangan dengan keluarga tercinta.

Like it or not, we all have to restrain ourselves so that we can take care of our own safety as well as others.

We also prayed at home instead of going to mushola, mosque or other places of worships.
We did it at home, just the 4 of us.
We really solemnly enjoyed all this process and thank God for the opportunity to actually celebrate Eid Al-Fitr in a different, yet beautiful way.

Getting ready to pray at home

cheers from duck-face Indah et Nadine :)

So again, allow me to say:

EID MUBARAK, EID MUBARAK
HAPPY EID AL-FITR

More stories, video and pictures will come from our celebration of Eid Al-Fitr this year. Meanwhile, wishing you all  happy, healthy and safe days ahead!

WW: Eid Al-Fitr Delicious Cuisines

Eid Al-Fitr will not be complete without its famous, extravaganza delish cuisines.
This year, since we do not mudik or go back to our hometown, many of us have to prepare the traditional Lebaran cuisine on their own. Well, we can obviously order it from many restaurants and food vendors that provide them, but for me, Eid Al - Fitr is so special I feel like I have to cook them myself!

The traditional menu on Lebaran day usually comprises of ketupat (rice cake wrapped in  specially-woven coconut leaves), rendang (the world wide famous spicy beef with coconut milk), opor ayam (chicken stew with coconut milk), sambal goreng ati (spicy potato and beef liver), semur daging (Indonesian sweet beef stew) and sayur ketupat (Indonesian spicy vegetable soup). Not to mention the cookies! My fave is always be the kaastengels or the cheese cookies and nastar, the one with pineapple jam. Well, even writing them down here is mouthwatering for me LOL.

cookies, anyone? Kaastengel, nastar and putri salju or snow white

I have share a lot about Lebaran food, including some recipes.
Check it out here:
This year, I was somehow too tired and lazy to cook for Lebaran Day at the end of Ramadhan. But I was so lucky as my little brother was cooking a lot and sent some food to my home, especially sayur godog for ketupat and sambal goreng ati. We bought ketupat from our neighbors so we only need the main courses.  Then on the second day of Eid Al Fitr, I decided to cook opor ayam and adding sambal goreng ati. Not too late as we are still celebrating the big day. Here's what I got.

Ketupat, everyone?

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Ramadhan is almost over.

Only days before we all celebrate the Eid-Al Fitr, the day when we celebrate the victory of our battle against our own demons, bad deeds and all the unkind personalities within us. I have to admit my Ramadhan this year is not fully and solemnly observed. I feel like I should do more and more.

I was really caught up with my offline-turning-to-online training and its assignments as well the office works. Plus more distractions that I let myself into. Well, I know it might sound like a lame excuse but I guess I'm the one who miss all the remarkable benefits the Holy Month is offering. At this point, I sincerely hope I will be given the opportunity to observe Ramadhan next year. Insya Allah.

And wishing you all a wonderful and solemn Eid Al-Fitri, wherever you are!

Anyway, this Work From Home session will soon be adjusted. Believe me, we have more and more activities coming in the horizon. Seems like Corona does not dampen the spirit and we look for ways to remain productive while waiting for more progress in our fight against this deadly virus. Indonesia is still showing higher and higher number of confirmed cases. I sometimes am speechless to see how people tend to be reckless during these days. I don't want to blame Ramadhan or Eid -al Fitr as the reason why people seem to sprout out and go on with day-to-day business as if nothing dangerous might happen. It's not fair to blame this holy month, as this is supposed to be the time when we restrain ourselves from making reckless and inconsiderate actions such us going out without mask and flocking in the market. At this point, I only hope people will come to their senses without having to learn the hard way.

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh mY Heartsie Girls and Friends

Cheers from all of us!
Ramadan is over, Eid al-Fitri is celebrated, so now time to go back to our routine with refreshed and energised spirits!

I had gone back to Jakarta earlier as I need to come to the office on Monday morning, while my hubby and the kids still enjoy their prolonged vacation in Lampung. Besides, mudik balik or the return trip from Lampung to Jakarta was horrible, as thousands or even millions of mudikers were doing it at the same time. I shared our mudik photos and stories here: WW: Mudik - Going Back Home for Lebaran

It was packed!
I flew by Garuda Indonesia to Jakarta so it was not that problematic, but as my hubby drove our car with our kids, the trip was a bit more complicated and long.
On the way to Bakauheni...

As predicted, even a week after the peak of mudik, the trip was still longer than normal. My hubby spent around 2 hours just for waiting for the ferry. The trip with the ferry itself took around 2.5 hours, while normally it's 1 - 1.5 hours. I guess I can share it on the next post.

But now, let me invite you to our weekly link party with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and friends. Jump in and drop you link as well!
