Wellington Cable Car, Enjoying Wellington in Bright, Sunny Day

This week marks our third week in Wellington and almost a month in New Zealand.

We are still living in our temporary apartment - hotel in the city and one attraction near here that I have tried is the Wellington Cable Car.

It was said that your visit to (or stay in) Wellington will not be complete without trying this legendary red cable car. Running from the city center Lambton Quay to Kelburn, which happens to be the area where the Embassy is located, the cable car is indeed one of tourists' favorite landmarks as well as handy mode of transport to those living or working around the area.

The ticket costs NZD 9 for return and NZD 5 for one-way. You can have family package as well for NZD 16 return for 1 adult and up to 3 kids or NZD 22 return for 2 adults and up to 4 kids. As for students, the ticket is NZD 6 for return and NZD 3.5 for one way. Child  age 5-15 will be NZD 4.5 and NZD 2.5. Very affordable indeed. As for the time table, there are many adjustments made due to the holidays. So better check the website.

The cable car has only 5 stops, starting from Lambton Quay and ends at Kelburn. On top of the cable car stop, you can definitely enjoy the view of the city. Once we have arrived at the top of the cable car, we can also visit the museum, souvenir shop and the cafe. You can also catch the shuttle to Zealandia or head to Botanic Garden and Space Place. The view from the top is surely amazing!

That’s a little story about our first days in Wellington. More to come for sure and stay healthy, everyone!

WW: Highlights of 3-Day Visits to Christchurch, New Zealand

Christchurch is such a wonderful city.

We had spent 7 days there during the quarantine as we entered New Zealand, but then as I have shared before, we didn't get the chance to see the city as we were directly ushered to the airport o continue our journey to Wellington.

Nevertheless, I must be very lucky as in the next 2 weeks afterwards, I flew back to this city and get a chance to actually enjoy it.

Although it was raining cats and dogs, literally for the whole 3 days during my visit, but it was still wonderful.

Here are some of the highlights of 3-Day visits to Christchurch, New Zealand. I will certainly share more details at the later stage but now, check out some of these photos I took here and there.

WW: Christmas Tree Competition at Wellington International Airport

Here we go...

The wonderful time of the year, especially to those celebrating Christmas and the holiday.

mmuaaaah...

I have travelled to Christchurch again last week and we flew with Air New Zealand. Like in many places, the holiday vibe is in the air and this is what we have in the airport, Christmas Tree Competition at Wellington International Airport.

Although I don't celebrate Christmas, but I can feel the joy and am happy as well.
So, let's see what we have in the airport!

Some are classic, some are cute, and some are purple. Yeaaah

the owl..

Aren't they lovely?

Quest on the Terrace, A Compact Aparthotel in the heart of Wellington

Kia Ora!

I hope everyone is fine and just like us, the Frakarsas, you find everyday a brand new adventure. We are now entering the third week of our journey in the land of Kiwis. Since arriving in Wellington, we have lived temporarily in Quest on the Terrace

An apart hotel resides in the heart of Wellington City, Quest on the Terrace has been well-known as a hub for those staying in the city for a long period of time or those who just briefly visit the city.

We have booked this place for one month stay. Well, until the end of December, we will be staying here. Good thing I have already found the house for us and I will definitely share the story of this homey home-away-from-home on the next post.

So, let's take a closer look at
Quest on the Terrace.

I got the 2-bed room apartment with daily service (except on Sunday and public holiday). I have one double bed for my and my hubby and 2 single beds for my kids, temporarily.

It has complete kitchen, with stoves, oven, hood, fridge, microwave, toaster, utensils and dishwasher.  Dinnerwares and cookwares that can cater 4-6 peoples are also available.

Before I go further, I just have to point out that I have wonderful view of the houses on the hills (so Wellington) from my living room.

the lovely view from my living room

We have the living room and one bathroom with toilet and washing machine as well. You get your flat screen TV, Sky box (for extra channel and entertainment) and in-room phone. The living room have love seat comfy sofa.

We also have the dining table for 4 as well.

Really a comfort of home, although now it's packed with out big luggages.

Oh, and we also have access to the gym, which is located two-buildings away and it has pool as well! I have to admit I haven't tried it but I will definitely do that. Soon!

The lobby is also comfortable. Well, not too big or too fancy but it's lovely and it has receptionist who will be ready and friendly to assist you with anything.

This place is only 5 - minute walk to Lambton Quay, which is the city center with all the shops, restaurants, malls and shopping centers, and 10-15 minutes walk to the Waterfront. Te Papa museum and more are around the area as well. So, all in all, this place is indeed recommended.

Go check out the price on their web and get the best price for your stay! Cheers...

WW: One Sunny Day at Waterfront Wellington

Sunny Day at Waterfront Wellington
One sunny day at Waterfront Wellington

We're here!

We finally arrived at Wellington and passed our self-isolation period for 3 extra days after 7-day quarantine in Christchurch.

Our swab test were all negative so we can finally go out and start enjoying Wellington, still with strict health protocol in place. We have the COVID tracer app and vaccine pass as well here.

Well, as summer is on in Wellington, we enjoyed one sunny day at the waterfront which is not that far from our temporary aparthotel in Wellington Central. We certainly enjoy it so much and it's always great to see the sunshine and blue sky again,

stay in Commodore Hotel Christchurch
welcome to the quarantine

Kia Ora!

Saying hi from Christchurch, New Zealand and we are still enjoying our wet summer in the land of the Kiwi from our quarantine facility, Commodore Hotel.

We are obliged to have 7-day quarantine since we landed in NZ and we are indeed following all the procedures. Right after landing in Christchurch international airport, we had 5 check points for our recent condition and our health, our immigration documents, our custom document, our bags and the custom declaration. All was well and provided as obliged, so that we were rushed to the MIQ or Managed Isolation and Quarantine Facilities prepared for us, which is Commodore Hotel. And our days in the quarantine began.

I have nothing to complain except the fact you spend so much time in the room. Once we got our blue wrist band, indicating that your swab test's result is negative, we could go to the designated area or recreation area for exercises or simply getting fresh air and enjoying the blue sky, when it wasn't cloudy.

We enjoy our stay here and I have to say the food is amazing! Everyday, we get so excited choosing our breakfast, lunch and dinner from the app called ServeMe and wait until those yummy plates are delivered to our room. The dessert is to die for!
