Let's Have Fun at Mutun Beach, Lampung

Hi everyone..

Hope all is well and I know that this pandemic is still around but we have to be able to stay safe, happy and healthy.

Do you miss traveling around?
I do. I certainly do.
And the beach is one of the places I am craving for.

Born and raised in Lampung, I am blessed to be given the opportunity to enjoy lines of beautiful beaches dotting Lampung and Semangka Bay and beyond. One of them is called Mutun beach.

Mutun Beach is  one of the people's favorite beaches in Lampung.  Located in Lampung Bay and a part of Pesawaran, this place is a favorite because of its location which is relatively easy to reach. It has clean and powdery, white sand shore and its facilities are quite complete.

If you are familiar with Bandar Lampung, the route to reach this beach is almost the same as the other beaches in the vicinity. We can reach this place by car, heading to  Hanura and Ketapang Markets, via Jl. Raya Way Ratay. Indeed, we are often blocked by traffic because the road is rather small and it has heavy traffic due to many crowded fish markets, as well as beautiful beaches around it.

Mutun beach is quite clean and spacious as it has a long coastline.
But when it is crowded, it can be filled with many visitors, especially during holidays (before the Corona pandemic).

The entrance ticket is IDR 25000 per car (including passengers in it) and you will have to pay in the gate.

Here we can swim, enjoy various water sports (there is a banana boat) and rent a boat to go around on the small islands around it. We can also rent boats for hop on and hop off to Tangkil island, Pahawang island, Kelagian, or even Tanjung Putus.

There are bamboo houses  or huts that can be rented for IDR 100K for one visit.
There are also many sellers of food and souvenirs and swimming equipment for those who need them.  Usually we bring our own food for a picnic here. Or you can also buy food at various Padang restaurants and other food stalls that are along the road to this beach. If you want to buy food in the beach area, they mostly sell  instant noodles in the cup, meatballs and rujak or fresh cut fruits with sweet peanut and chili sauce.  and they have lots of fresh coconut, too.

The parking lot is safe and spacious. Usually we give extrar tip (if you want to) to the parking attendants who were there.

Here's the video we made on our visit to Mutun Beach, Pesawaran, Lampung.

The beach is open again with health protocol being strictly observe.

Enjoy the beach and please, please, please, stay safe, happy and healthy

Raya Way Ratay. Memang kita kerap terhadang macet karena jalan yang agak kecil dan lalu lintas padat karena banyak pusat keramaian seperti tempat pelelangan ikan dan pasar, serta pantai - pantai cantik yang ada di sekitarnya.

Mutun Beach, Pesawaran, Lampung

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Grand Central Market, New York City

Welcome back and how is your week?

I have been back to the office although with 50 percent capacity.

Happy? well, it's good to go out and be back to the office. Anxious? very. Because the statistics of those who positively diagnosed with COVID - 19 is increasing. Mostly in East Java province, not Jakarta. But most of us have been out or back to the office so the traffic is back and so is the pollution. The offices are open and employees are having some of the routines back.

WW: Hagia Sophia Revisited

Alley at Hagia Sophia, Istanbul, Turkey

We have heard from the news recently that Hagia Sophia or Aya Sofya in Istanbul, Turkey is now becoming mosque again. It was originally built as Cathedral then turned into mosque for several times before it functions as museum. Until July 10th, 2020, when President Erdogan of Turkey announced that Hagia Sophia will resume its function as mosque again.

I just remember my last visit there and  revisit this amazing place through my external hard disk. Again I just realize I have so many unpublished photos of Hagia Sophia.
Even after all those times, I am still awed by its magnificent details.

Hope you like the following photos.

Drive-In Graduation at SMP Islam Tugasku, Jakarta

Drive-In Graduation of SMP Islam Tugasku, Jakarta

"And now... Pramudita Darurazqi Frakarsa.."

The MC of that day called Bo, my son, to the stage to receive his Diploma and his report cards as well as the year book. My hubby and I, together with little brother and Obi, Bo's little sister, were witnessing this happy moment from our car, as we drove along the right in front of the stage. Yes, we were in the middle of the process of  Drive-in Graduation of SMP Islam Tugasku, Jakarta.

Drive-in graduation is indeed an interesting new concept.
Amidst the pandemic and the fact that we have to remain vigilant , many of us are trying to continue our live as close to normal. Of course with strict health protocol in place and revived good old habits such as washing our hands properly and keeping ourselves healthy and fit.

So the same goes to my son's graduation.
After officially and virtually graduated from his Junior High School in May, Bo's teachers at SMP Islam Tugasku Jakarta have considered to make an unforgettable graduation ceremony which is in line with the new normal and the obliged health protocol. Together with the Committee of Parents (including me), the teachers adopted drive - in drive  - through graduation ceremony done in other countries such as the US and prepared for our very own.

We came early in the morning, before 8 AM to Jakarta Equestrian Center in Pulomas. The committee was ready, directing cars to their designated parking spots, with enough space in between. The surrounding areas had been decorated as well, with welcoming banners and photos of the students. The stage was ready, with some photo spots which certainly are Instagramable. We decorated our car with various cute stuff such as banners, balloons, ribbons, print outs and more. We wanted to make the car looked merry and fun!

Every student had a specially customized banner to be put on the car as well. We chose gold, silver and black as the theme. It looked nice and the car was really pimped up LOL.

Different from the traditional graduation process, we didn't stay in a room and gather with all teachers, students, and parents. We sit in our car, watch the complete procession (and some entertainment, too) from Zoom virtual meeting app. I brought my laptop and we watched on lappy as well as our cell phones on the spot.

We had similar program such as speeches from the Principle, the Head of the School Foundation, as well as the representatives of the parents and the students. We watched videos specially made by the students as well as their juniors, bidding goodbye and wishing the 9th grade students best of luck for their senior high.

We enjoyed "Before You Go" song beautifully performed by 3 girls from Bo's class. Pak Haris, Bo's teacher, also led the prayer for all of us. We even had the teachers singing and dancing for this event! Parents were presenting special tokens of appreciation for all the teachers at school as well. It was a mixed feelings indeed. Sad, happy, excited, funny and all that.

Whenever we agreed or cheered on something, we honked and it was hilarious!

Btw, Bo is the 15th batch in that school and they call it AECROVINLAZEX.
Don't ask me what it means LOL

Then each and every kids were called to come to the stage. We drove our our kids to the stage to receive his or here Diploma. They came out of the car, cheered by their teachers, went on the stage, received their Diploma, then posed for a while on the stage. We then waited for our turn to take pictures with the family on a designated area.

I have shared some photos before on WW: Drive - In Graduation at SMP Islam Tugasku Jakarta.  Here are some more photos from the event.

It was a very unique ceremony indeed.
And Bo was even covered by the local TV and aired.
Maybe because of the distinct Tapis Lampung mask he was wearing.

After all the procession were done, the kids took pictures together. Still with the mask on and trying to maintain the physical distance. Parents joined them and we thanked the teachers again for all their great hard work and supports for the students. We can never thank them enough!

All in all, it was a wonderful event and surely unforgettable!

Congratulations once again, Bo!
