Wonderful Wednesday with Oh My Heartsie Girls

The last two weeks have been crazily busy for me.
The work at the offices, kids' school activities and events, and of course my blog.

I felt so tired but get some excitement from retelling our stories and uploading our photos from the spring break trip. The last leg of our trip was Muir Wood, San Fransisco.

For sure, more stories and photos from Muir Woods will be shared here.

But last Friday we joined the cultural night at Bo et Obi's school. Just like last year, we opened Indonesian table and had some Indonesian food for all to try.

Now, are you ready for another Wonderful Party with us?

Wonderful Wednesday with #OMHGWW is back and get yourself prepared for all those wonderful links that we have here for you.

Throwback Tuesday: Paris in love

It's already a new week and Throwback Tuesday is here.

I know being sentimental can be problematic sometimes, but I guess I found looking at our stories and photos in the past very relaxing and therapeutic.

Do you think so as well?

So, anyway..this time we took you back to 2010.
I hope you don't mind :).

And Paris is where we're heading to.

To the city of lights.
Or as many have dubbed, the most romantic city in the world.

And even to make it more special, our visit to Paris  at that time was such a rare combination of Valentine's day and the Chinese New Year.
Paris during Valentine's Day.
And Paris during the Chinese New Year.
Interesting, isn't it.
Although we didn't really celebrate Valentine's Day or Chinese New Year per se, I considered ourselves lucky to witness that colorful celebration in Paris.

cheers from Eiffel Tower.

It took us around 5-hour drive from Geneve, where we resided from 2007 - 2011, to Paris.
Bo was only 3 years old at that time and as you know traveling with young children can be full of 'drama'.
And we were lucky that both of my kids seem to have the same 'itchy feet ' and curiosity over new places, peoples and cultures. So I general, traveling with my kids were mostly enjoyable, with no particular problems.

I remember Bo pretty much loved playing with his stroller at this point.
And balloon.
So we managed to have all of these favorite toys of his ready before continuing our trip, particularly since we took public transportation most of the time.

The trip itself was made possible thanks to our dearest friends and photo mentors, Mas Hedi et Mba Cessy, who never run out of patience with us, the apprentice :).

So, off we went to Paris on the 13th of February, staying there for 2 short days only, with the aim of enjoying the Gong Xi Fat Choi and Paris in love. Lots of love.

Starting with the tour de Montparnasse, we climbed to the 59th floor of the building to enjoy the City of Lights in full-fledge.

Not to mention our  culinary tour to Tang Frere or the china town and our search for the lost 'klenteng' or Chinese Temple have completed our journey at that time.

Before hitting Hotel de Ville where the defile du dragon started, we managed to visit the Eifell Tower, the Louvre Museum, and the surrounding.

Barely make it on time, we arrived in Hotel de Ville, where the celebration was held, right when the parade was about to start.

And what a celebration it was!

the dragon..so colorful :)

Full of characters from the famous Chinese legends, so colorful, so detailed.
Dragons, knights, emperors, princes and princesses, judges, and more...

Paris Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year in Paris is indeed festive :)

The make-ups, the costumes, the expressions..
It was really a festive day, not only for the Chinese who celebrated the New Year, but also for us, the spectators.

the three ladies :)

Red was obviously dominating the scene, but I managed to find one wise man (at least I thought so ) with PURPLE (my favorite color) beard.

Afterwards, we hit the road again and headed to Les Champs- Elysses.

Took more pictures here and there.
Enjoying precious moments with our dear friends and families.

Well, for sure it was quite a colorful weekend.

Most photos were taken by Udi, my hubby, while the family pictures were taken by Mas Hedi or Mba Cessy.

Speaking about Paris, I have one beautiful Paris bag, with Eiffel tower on it,  made by my dearest friends, Suzie Icus

Icus is a loving mom of Abin, a cute baby boy, who has admiringly founded Itaco together with her students. Teaching in a vocational school, Icus has inspired many of her students to start creating various kinds of DIY and crafts, like pouches, bags, even t-shirts and pin. I even orders beautiful endek Bali pouches, t-shirt and pins for my breast cancer team's souvenirs.
You wanna see them?

Thanks to Icus for providing me this :)

Aren't they lovely!
I sincerely hope Icus and her students will continue doing their great jobs and we will have more and more entrepreneurs.

Well, what di you think?

Any memories you would like to share with us today?
Do you have the same impression of Paris in love?

Jangan Pernah Berhenti Belajar

"You know, if you want the blanket to be nice and fluffy, we can use the tennis balls" said Mrs. Prasinos, the owner of the laundromat where I always go to.

Tennis balls? How?

"You know, Indah.. When we put all these blankets in the dryer, the tenis balls will be bounced to them repeatedly and make them fluffy and even dry faster" jelasnya panjang lebar melihat wajah heranku.

Ooooh..so that's why.

Bunda Yati Rachmat.

Say hi to Bunda Yati,
photo was taken from Bunda Yati Rachmat's facebook page

Silahkan klik www.bundayati.com and her world will be beautiful showcased to you.

You know, I don't think I am in the  position of reviewing Bunda Yati's blog as I myself is a newbie in the bloggersphere. I don't have enough guts to do so.

But for sure, I learn a lot while reading her blog.
I cried with her when she poured her heart out after the passing of her son.
I excitedly enjoyed her
I smiled as she shared her precious moments with her friends.
I learned more about some tips and tricks on many things.
I cheered her for all those blogging competition she joined.
And how my heart warms reading her blog.

Feels like she's here.
Next to me.
Teaching me things I need to know, giving me points to ponder in this life.

Stay inspiring ya Bunda.
Thanks for beautifully sharing it with us all.

Spring Break 2016: Grandeur Grand Canyon

"Mommy, where are we now? Why is it snowing?"
"Are we going to hike again today?"

Obi asked me, looked worried.

I was busily packing bottles of water and salty snack in our backpack when I heard Obi from the back seats.

"Don't worry, baby. We will have another great adventure today," I smiled reassuringly.

We just arrived at Grand Canyon.

The next place we visited after Lower Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell, still in our Spring Break.

And we made it!
We finally made it to Grand Canyon.

Perhaps, for many of you, visiting this national park is a regular annual trip.  But for us, coming from a different part of the world, Grand Canyon is certainly on top if our bucket list along with Alaska,Yellowstone National Park, and so many more.

And it was snowing (yes, snowing) when we arrived here one early morning at the last week of April.

Driving for about 2 hours from Page, Arizona, we started the trip from Dessert View, heading to the South Rim, up to the Hermit Road. North Rim was still closed for the season. We managed to stop at Little Colorado River Gorge for a while.

Little Colorado River Gorge

Grand Canyon, on whatever season, never fails to amaze us.

Standing there, warmly wrapped in our light winter gear, the grandeur Grand Canyon is all for us to explore.

Dot by dot, every view point, we enjoyed the breathtaking beauty of mother nature with admiring eyes and endless wonder.
And how small we are amidst the vast and incredible nature.

cheers from the Watch Tower.

You have to be fully alert all the time.
That's for sure/
Bo et Obi were very cooperative. We have drilled them before to stay on the path, to be behind the rail, and to be cautious. Not to mention how dangerous it is to play around, jump and run while trekking .
So, it's much safer buat foto seru :).
Just don't look down.

at the Powell Point...bener-bener foto di ujung tebing :)

We started our journey from the Desert View drive, driving along this beautiful palisades.
The vista is amazing.

We stopped at the Watch Tower, enjoying the canyon and its grandeur.
For the first 20 minutes, we were so busily taking pictures and recording videos until our hands were numb due to the cold >_<.
As you can see, pictures shown here are both taken by me and my hubby, Rudi, as the watermark indicated :).

Good thing the kids were waiting inside the watch tower.
We also got a chance to climb up the tower and see beautiful Indian drawings and symbols on the wall.

the Indian drawing

From the watch tower, we drove along and stopped at so many points, - Yaki Point, Mather Point, Grandeur Point and more.

We took the buss from Grand Canyon Village headed to the western part of the Canyon, hiked from trailview overlook to Maricopa Point, Powell Point, Hopi Point, Mojave Point, the Abyss, monument creek point, Pima Point and finally to Hermits Rest.

Words can not express the amazing vista we saw along the way.
So precious, so mindblowing.

And we finally called a day after a beautiful sunset, amidst a cold and cloudy day, at Pima Point.

Have you visited Grand Canyon? What is your impression about it?
Do you like National Parks?
