Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1443H

Alhamdulillah, the victory day is here!

EID MUBARAK

Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1443H

May your day filled with Allah's endless blessings and  forgiveness.

The Frakarsas is sending warm greetings to those celebrating the Eid Al Fitr, the victorious day, after one month of Ramadhan. We sincerely hope we will be able to meet the next Ramadhan. As for this auspicious day, we trust our sisters and brothers are celebrating it with joy and happiness with their loved ones.

My daughter and I

It is the first time for my family and I to celebrate this Eid Al Fitr in Wellington, New Zealand. As much as we miss our dearest family in Indonesia, we are happy to celebrate it with our new family in Wellington. Meeting many lovely  friends from different corners of the city (as well as the country), we definitely expand our sisterhood and brotherhood eventhough we are far away from home.

This Lebaran day festivity is organized by UMI or Umat Muslim Indonesia, the Indonesian Moslem community organization, in Wellington. I will definitely share more stories of our gathering as well as our 'open house' session on the next story.

Cheers from Wellington

Eid Mubarak 1442 H

EID MUBARAK!

🦋 🦋🦋🦋🦋

May we all have a blessed Eid, wherever we are!

Insya Allah, Allah SWT’s continued blessings & forgiveness will be bestowed upon us 🙏🙏🙏

Maaf lahir batin atas segala khilaf, alpa, dan kesalahan sepanjang tahun. Semoga Allah SWT menerima segala amal ibadah kita dan menjadi pribadi yang kembali pada fitrah-Nya.

Stay safe, happy and healthy, wherever you are! Have a blessed Eid, filled with love, joy, and togetherness

WW: Eid AL-Fitr is Coming!

Eid AL-Fitr is Coming!
Eid AL-Fitr is Coming!

The end of Ramadhan is near and we are preparing for Eif Al-Fitr.

Just like last year, we are still observing Ramadhan and celebrating Eid AL-Fitr, the victory day, in COVID -19 environment. As many of us have been vaccinated and with strict health protocol being observed, this year we will be able to actually pray in the mosque with physical distancing and mask on.

This year, for the first time, insya Allah we will celebrate Eid Al-Fitr with my mom and my brothers in Jakarta. It was really a blessing as last year we celebrated it separately in Jakarta and Lampung, as we couldn't go home due to the extra restriction during the pandemic. This year is similar, but my brother manages to come to Jakarta and stays for a while.

Anyway, here's a little preparation we made before the Eid. We cleaned the house, rearranged things, cooked special food for Eid, and sent hampers to family and friends. It was always fun indeed!

the market was packed!

buying food for Ifthar...all ready-to-eat munchies

Salted fish in various form... sooo tempting

Colorful cupcakes from my dearest friend

Virtual Eid Mubarak and Halal Bihalal

getting ready for virtual meet - up
Thanks to coronavirus, we are now “forced“ to embrace the ‘new normal’.
This year‘s Eid is one of the examples.

Google Meet with my Google Local Guide Community

We are strongly urged not to go back home or do ‘mudik’ in order to curb the spread of the virus. Many of us stay at home, separated from the big family or their loved ones, and experience the first and special Eid Al-Fitr in the middle of the pandemic. And that includes us, the Frakarsas.

The link below is the video of our Eid Celebration last year.
You see.. we did it in traditional fashion. We had big gatherings, family and friends, lots of food, tons of fun! Making me missing everyone! As Lebaran day is happening only once a year and celebrated after a month-long fasting month, no wonder we won't nothing but the best during this victorious day.

Yet, again, 2020 is super special.
There we are.. making so many adjustments in life, work and the way we conduct our activities. We are taking our Eid celebration to a new level and a new platform.

Virtual celebration.

I have several Eid celebration and ‘gathering’ going on this year. First with my mom and my brothers and our families through whatsapp group video call. Then with my aunties and big families, followed by Office colleagues, my childhood friends and families as well as my communities. Quite a busy and packed schedules that carries on till the end of the week after Eid Al-Fitr. Even on the third day (which used to be part of Eid long holidays before COVID-19), we already have meetings and webinars through zoom application as well.

our first meeting right after the Eid
I even have back to back ‘halal bihalal’ virtual meetup with my junior high school friends and continued with my Jakarta Google Local Guides and then Women Local Guides. I ended up finish everything at 1 AM. Straight from 4 PM in the afternoon! It was crazily long but I really enjoyed it. I will share more detailed stories in another post. As you can see, we have no better option but enjoying it.

This halal bihalal continued until 11 PM
This year, we are doing it differently as we stayed at home and did everything from home during Lebaran day. But of course, it does not mean it's not fun! You can see our lebaran celebration this year in my YouTube video as well.

So, many of us are familiar with teleconference applications such as Google Meet, Webex, Skype, Polycon, and Zoom application and therefore we use them a lot. It was fun to chat, laugh, share photos and slides with the others. Even some technical glitches can be funny during the meeting. Perhaps this is the new normal that we all have to get used to. I do have problems with the connection sometimes and from bad backache after long, straight time sitting in front of the computer. And I guess I have to check my sight again as the hours being spent in front of the computers have significantly multiplied. But out of these issues, I can say I enjoy my virtual Eid Mubarak and Halal Bihalal.

How about your Lebaran day?
So do you have your virtual meetings with your loved one as well?
How do you like it?

Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends

Lebaran Day Eid Al FItr
Lebaran Day!

Lebaran Day is here!
How wonderful it is, and slightly somber for us since we are not going back home. We are happy that we have given the opportunity to forge ourselves into better beings during the holy month of Ramadhan and ended it up with Eid Al-Fitr. The festivities are in the air although we are mostly staying at home as Large Scale Social Restriction or PSBB is still in place.

But as I wrote in Eid Mubarak, Eid Mubarak, we still enjoy Eid Al-Fitr. Even on the third day of Lebaran, which is usually still part of our annual leave, we are officially (and virtually) back to the office. Well, we are getting ready for the 'new normal.' Hope everything can be safely planned and done.

Meanwhile, our friends and families in the US is celebrating the Memorial Day. It's like the heroes' day in Indonesia, where we celebrated the lives and sacrifices our heroes, the fallen soldiers and others who have fought against the colonialization. May they all rest in peace.

And now, Wonderful Wednesday with My Purple World, Oh My Heartsie Girls and Friends is ready to welcome you all.

Eid Mubarak, Eid Mubarak!

Eid Mubarak, Eid Mubarak

EID MUBARAK, EID MUBARAK
HAPPY EID AL-FITR

Wishing all my dearest family and friends a wonderful and joyful Eid Al-Fitr!
May Allah SWT continue bestowing us with endless blessings.
Aamiin Ya Rabbal Alamiiin

We all know, Ramadhan and Eid AL-Fitr this year is different due to Corona.
No congregation at the mosque, no buka bersama or having ifthar party, no open jamaah Eif Al-Fitr sholat (at least for many of us, since we saw many were still doing it :( ), no mudik or going back home, no salaman or hand-shaking asking for forgiveness.

Yet, we have new traditions as well.
Virtual tradition!
Virtual buka bersama or ifthar, virtual mudik, virtual family gathering, virtual saweran or giving bonus money to the kids due to their good behaviours during Ramadhan (to be followed by transfer LOL),  and many more. We shared and chatted through various platforms, - Whatsapp group, zoom, Google meet, skype..you name it! And again, as we learn to live side by side, make a peace with this new normal, we can actually enjoy it!

We still share the same joy and happiness although we are not together physically.
This is the new normal that we all have to learn and bear.
Walaupun kita tidak secara langsung berkumpul, tapi kita tetap bisa berbagi kebahagiaan dan kesenangan dengan keluarga tercinta.

Like it or not, we all have to restrain ourselves so that we can take care of our own safety as well as others.

We also prayed at home instead of going to mushola, mosque or other places of worships.
We did it at home, just the 4 of us.
We really solemnly enjoyed all this process and thank God for the opportunity to actually celebrate Eid Al-Fitr in a different, yet beautiful way.

Getting ready to pray at home

cheers from duck-face Indah et Nadine :)

So again, allow me to say:

EID MUBARAK, EID MUBARAK
HAPPY EID AL-FITR

More stories, video and pictures will come from our celebration of Eid Al-Fitr this year. Meanwhile, wishing you all  happy, healthy and safe days ahead!
